What an amazing place, a big thank you to Mr Stephen Blair and his team for making my knee replacement surgery at Thornbury hospital a pleasant experience from someone who was so anxious. The staff were so attentive and the care I have received has been second to none. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hospital and will certainly be back if I need the other one doing.
I found the surgeons nurses and staff first class. The menu for food was like being in a hotel. The hospital was very clean and tidy. All in all my visit to have my knee operation was a very pleasant experience. Thank you all for looking after me. Alan Earle
After having had two knee replacements on separate occasions, I can thoroughly recommend Thornbury Hospital. Their attention to detail was excellent and the treatment in the physio department, especially with Lucy, was brilliant! I would certainly go there again if I needed more treatment, especially surgery.
I recently had spinal surgery at Thornbury. What a great service and ALL the staff were fabulous. Every member of staff who I came into contact with were friendly respectful and professional.They also demonstrated kindness nothing was too much trouble and listened to any concerns I had putting me at ease from admission to discharge. The care and treatment I received was excellent.Thank you to all.
Not impressed. My 89 year old mum was handed a blood stained gown to put on for her procedure. The staff member didn’t even apologize or seem bothered but went to get another gown. The doctor who performed the procedure didn’t introduce himself or say anything to my mum so we don’t even know if it was the consultant we saw initially. The aftercare was non existent - left alone with no indication of how long she would be there for. A more personal service would have been nice all round - it is extremely expensive private care after all.
I had a hip replacement 6 weeks ago and the treatment I received from Reception through to the Surgeon and the wonderful nurses was exceptional. I was cared for with professionalism and good humour throughout. I certainly won't hesitate to have my next operation at Thornbury.
I’ve recently had surgery at Thornbury Hospital under Professor Swati Jha excellent from my first consultation to leaving after surgery, couldn’t of wished for better, she explained every aspect of my prognosis and used diagrams to explain the best procedures for my surgery. I found all the staff very caring and supportive, all the nurses were marvellous I found my night nurse Mandy who attentively looked after me immediately after surgery was just amazing really found the experience second to none. Also I found even though I was only a patient overnight the menus extensive, service with a smile. The anaesthetists team were very supportive and caring, receiving general anaesthetic was straight forward and you are made to feel comfortable. I was discharged with all the information for a speedy recovery along with phone numbers should I require further assistance during my recovery. Can honestly say I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hospital.
After having to cancel my 76 year old fathers initial surgery because the hospital had not informed us he had to attend the day before to take bloods. It was rearranged for last week. We arrived before 7am as requested and I left my father there shortly after because i was informed he is first down and would be in surgery at 8am. Nil by mouth as requested from the night before, my father was left waiting until late afternoon. No explanation given, 24 hours nil by mouth. Finally getting home at 1am. They didn’t even take his bloods before surgery. Contradicting the reasons for cancelling previously. A total lack of respect and empathy in an already stressful situation. Hugely disappointing and against all recommended procedure for any nil by mouth patients.
My recent 2 day stay at the Thornbury was a positive experience. Staff from medical to catering were all attentive. My room was clean and very comfortable. I felt well supported on discharge.
I had surgery a month ago with Mr Ola who is amazing such a nice man he's sorted all my problems out. The staff were lovely and the food was beautiful. Im gluten free and they catered for that well. It was very clean.I would definitely recommend this hospital
