Rother Valley Country Park

Story

Rother Valley is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 1983 by Kevin Barron, a member of the Labour Party.HistoryThis constituency was created by the Representation of the People Act 1918. Unusually in the light of the events of the Labour Party's early 20th-century years, the seat has been represented by a member of that party continuously since the seat was formed. The size of the majorities never having been marginal in the elections to date, this has been a safe seat for the party.Boundaries1918-1949: The Urban Districts of Handsworth, and Swinton, and the Rural Districts of Kiveton Park, and part of Rotherham.1950-1983: The Urban Districts of Maltby, and Rawmash, and the Rural Districts of Kiveton Park, and Rotherham.Rother Valley constituency covers an area in the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham south of Rotherham itself. It is bordered by the constituencies of Bassetlaw, Bolsover, Derbyshire North East, Don Valley, Rotherham, Sheffield South East, and Wentworth and Dearne.

A great place for a walk around the lakes or a picnic on a warm day. Home of Rother valley Park run on a saturday morning. There are a few play ground areas for the kids and of course ducks and geese to see and feed. Great to take the dogs for a run.

A beautiful place to spend a few hours. You can ride round the lake (as I do) or walk round. Take your dog got a walk, there's Water Sports, Mountain Biking and lots of other things to do. The court yard has a café and a couple of shops. I'd recommend a visit to everyone.

Good parking. Pathways are 'very good' most of the way round, but round the back of the lake it falls to just 'good' and can be hard work if a wheelchair user us involved. It is still walkable but is just harder work.
