The gardens are quite big and there is a nice little lake. People walk their dogs here a lot. Lots of nice little flowers and greenery around. A lovely place for a Sunday afternoon walk or bringing the kids for an outing as there is an icecream shop in the car park. There is a cafe/pub as well though I can't comment more than that. There are lots of ducks in the lake which make for good photographs. They are quite active in flying about and climbing out so you can get some nice close-ups as well and bird-in-flights shots with a telephoto lens. I can't comment on the museum part of it as I didn't go in. I was more interested in the nature photographs. Be careful when driving up from the Doncaster side the Maps guide you to some small roads towards the back of it where you can drive in. I have suggested an edit to move the pin to the car park but I am not sure it will be approved. In the meantime, look at the "P" icon on the map and drive to that, not to the actual buildings where the current pin is set.

My grandparents love to visit here. They've introduced parking charges (not unreasonable, considering how many people go into the hall and grounds) so make sure you have change for that. There is a children's play ground just next to the car park and some woodland before you get to the main hall. Inside there is a museum and very friendly staff. In the grounds there is a large hill which offers nice views and a good walk around the lake at the bottom. The path back up is smooth and paved with regular benches incase the walk is difficult for you. There is also a tea room which sells cold drinks and ice cream.

Cusworth Hall is an attractive and elegant Georgian building surrounded by a beautifully looked after park which is the perfect setting for weddings, events, family picnics, sports, artists, gardening enthusiasts and wildlife lovers. This country home is unlike others, brings the Doncaster community together and welcomes anyone, it is the people's park, just like its most reknown owner, Lady Isabella, would have wished to be. A delightful place that gets better with the years.

Packed out today due to the snow. Great place for kids and big kids to go sledging. Then to the cafe for a warm drink and cake
