We love Potteric Carr Nature Reserve; there are plenty of trails, all pretty easy, very scenic and peaceful despite a busy carpark, and we always see some animals when we visit, namely birds and squirrels, though today we did see a fox. It's such a peaceful place and it's a part of our new year's tradition, as in, we walk into the new year whilst we walk around the reserve.nnNot a great place for kids who do not enjoy walking so either bring your pushchair or bring a hearty, walk-loving kids.
Lovely walk although we didn't see a lot of animals.nCafe was nice. Impressed they had oat milk and vegan Bakewell tart on menu. Think £5 each a bit much but overall enjoyed this place.
Beautiful natural area, deer, birds, the lake and different lengths to walk or just a coffee and delicious food by the lake. Repeat visitors all year around. Highly recommended
The cafe was very reasonable, cooked very nice snacks, excellent homemade chunky chips.. Have an array of cakes and scones.. The oat milk decaf coffee was far better than Costa's!nEntrance fee to the nature reserve £5 per person a family of four £12.. Spotted very little wildlife rather disappointing!! The woodland full of fallen rotten trees. I would highly recommend the cafe, there was also an opportunity to purchase items in aid of wildlife. No dogs are allowed!!!
Great reserve, near to the motorway so there is some background noise but it doesn't disturb the birds. Some lovely birds we don't usually see
