"The Roebuck is an award winning inn situated in the leafy village of Mobberley. It is a Grade II listed building dating back to 1708 and is the oldest inn in the village. In 2016 the Roebuck re-opened its doors after a lengthy closure. Mary Mclaughlin and Tim Bird acquired it and restored it over an 18 month period basing their restoration on a ‘petit hotel and bistro’ feel within a classic old English inn. With six rustic boutique bedrooms, terraces and tiered gardens, intimate bar and ‘neighbourhood’ bistro it has everything you need for the perfect escape"

We have eaten here several times but our last visit surpassed all others. Lunch for four with dog, so we were allocated a great table in the corner next to the fire. The service was fantastic, all staff and the manager were just genuinely lovely. We skipped starters because we wanted dessert. All dishes perfect. We had Cod Loin on risotto with brown shrimp, my brother had Chicken supreme and sister in law had fish and chips. All cooked exceptionally well. Desserts ,choc fondant, apple crumble and pear sponge. Wine menu good with wine stating at £20. Bill came to £100, £25 per head. Thank you so much for your hospitality.
Haven’t been to the Roebuck for years and we met with friends who’d recommended it. Eight of us had an absolutely brilliant meal with efficient, friendly service. Excellent menu, beers and wine. There is a choice of main meals as well as Tapas size plates/starters. The pub is really cosy and stylish. We’re already thinking about when we’ll next return.
It's been a long time since we visited the Roebuck, and we weren't disappointed. Good range of food on the menu and we had 4 delicious meals. Service and attention was excellent. Not cheap but well worth the money.
I can’t believe I’ve not been before! Always chasing the sun I opted for its neighbour, as a treat to my mother I booked a birthday lunch here. I was pleasantly surprised, quaint courtyard with secluded spots you wouldn’t know you we’re next to a road. For food we tried all of the small dishes tapas style super tasty and enough to share. Engaging staff and a quirky interior see for a perfect visit. We will be returning soon
Had a fantastic fish and chip meal here, recently. Could not fault it at all! Other members of our party had excellent meals as well from moules and frittes to the beefburgers, all very satisfying. Two things I really appreciated was the free water served at the table, without asking and the prices being very reasonable. Last but not least, the staff were very pleasant and customer centred. One of our party wanted the roast beef dinner but didn't want pink beef. The waitress asked the chef to cook the slices of beef well done. Would go back again and definitely recommend.
This is a must visit.. the atmosphere, staff, food and feel of The Roebuck Inn are superb.. I'll definitely visit back here again, especially for that French Onion Soup.. Twin this with a visit to the Bulls Head across the road and you'll soon be on Rightmove looking for a place to move to. Thank you for giving me an experience making me want to move house for, exceptional.
Hubby and I stayed last night and what a place! The rooms were quirky which is what we wanted and the staff were amazing, they bent over backwards to help us to make our stay the best it could be, and as for the food...pure heaven. Will be back for sure. Only downside was parking, as the carpark is shared between The Roebuck and The Bulls Head it was packed. Get there early, there is roadside parking though.
Attended for a birthday lunch which did not disappoint. Venison bourgignon as a main was delicious, accompanied by some perfect french beans. The side of dauphinoise potatoes which were just as good. Espresso martini affogato for desert, left me comfortably satisfied and finished off a stunning birthday lunch for me. Another in the party had the fish and chips, that I also sampled, and which will definitely be considered on my next visit.....as I will certainly be returning.
Atmosphere was lovely, food was sublime. Open fire was lovely and warm. Parking is a little bit tricky, but it's worth it!
Went here with family and friends. Lovely meal. Good service. A little cramped but it was boxing day. Will visit again!
