Me and my family stopped here on the way home down the M6 looking for some nice lunch. I knew we'd found a good place the minute I walked in and was warmly greeted by two members of staff. We sat outside in the courtyard and it was perfect with the sun out! We all loved the food we had. The warm duck salad was superb! Very reasonable prices too. All the staff are friendly and attentive. I even got to chat to the chef who was glad to hear the good feedback. I'll be making sure I pop in again the next time I'm travelling up north!
We had a great meal here! Probably the best roast beef dinner I've had in years - my wife thought the same. Looked too good to waste time taking photos, so got stuck right in, but managed a snap of the desserts, which were also good. Kids meals high quality as well - clearly cooked from scratch, no microwave fish fingers here! Friendly staff, nice wee outside area with covered and open sections. What's not to love!
Had a wonderful experience here. This pub has a great atmosphere. The staff are really lovely and polite. There is a great outdoor covered area to sit which is lit and filled with heaters. Really recommend dropping in here if passing. I didn’t eat here but I’ve also been told the food is top notch.
Lovely country pub. We were looking for something in the area and suddenly came across it on the way as the postcode took the satnav about 200m up. We were sat in the snug which is a cosy little room with a few tables. Food was very good, we both had a cheese starter, a burger and a pie of the day. Couldn’t fault either meals, delicious and piping hot, just what was needed on a cold winters night.
Fantastic food and a lovely atmosphere. Very busy but the staff did well and we didn't wait too long for service. Absolutely going back to try more food Parking: Good sized carpark, easy access
Living in the USA I miss a good Sunday lunch/dinner in a pub. After visiting the Bears Paw I think I’ve found where to get my fix whenever I’m back in the UK. Service was very good, there when you needed without being overly attentive. Three of us had lamb, one had turkey. We all thought the quality and portion size was perfect. Vegetables were served family style, perfectly cooked. Two of us had dessert, and everyone commented how good they were. We also noticed other desserts on other tables which looked very nice. The non-traditional Sunday lunch menu also had some interesting dishes which I’d like to try next time. There are limited tables which seemed to turn every two hours, so I’d advise you book ahead.
An absolute joy of a pub and well worth going for their Sunday Roast. The pub isn't far from the Lymm exit of the M6 and has an outdoor eating area, parking and all the trimmings of a gastropub inside though I find the decor a little dated. The value of the roast is outstanding and it's rare that you get beef that is this tender. Food wise, it's homely and hearty. The soup was nice and creamy. Roast wise, I've mentioned the meat and feel the broccoli also needs praise. My only marks against were a Yorkshire pudding that I wish were bigger as always and a gravy that's a little watery for me. Desserts were fantastic with a perfect custard. There's also a lovely Bears Paw pale ale beer that I wish I could buy a few bottles of but sadly is made specially for the pub. Definitely would come again.
Visit the bears paw regularly. Always welcomed in a warm and friendly manner. Food consistently outstanding, well presented, excellent ingredients, served hot and tasting delicious. Excellent value for money. Had the Sunday lunch today with a great varied choice. A la carte and specials menus also offer good variations. Jay, Mel and all the staff work hard to offer the wow factor and an amazing service to all customers. Keep up the great work and thank you.
Had a lovely lunch with family. Great home made food with lots of mouth watering choices. Had prawn pancake as a starter and then guinea fowl as main. Delicious. Can highly recommend.
Lovely meal, we went on a Monday afternoon and it was full, good job we booked. Food and service great. Will definitely be back.Food: 5/5
