Went here with 2 friends for lunch today, and was not disappointed. Lovely cosy pub, with lit candles on the tables, and very welcoming staff. My friends had the Steak & Ale pie, and thoroughly enjoyed it, and I had the Sea Bass, which was delicious. We had two Desserts, of Cheshire Ice Cream, and one friend had the individual Apple & Cinnamon Crumble, with a jug of custard. It looked delicious, and obviously was, as he ate every bit of it. It’s quite a rarity now to find such good home cooked food, but now we have, we will be back. I should have taken a photograph of everything, I wish I had, as it was beautifully presented, but remembered to take a photo of the crumble dessert, before it disappeared.
Sunday lunch. No bookings here. Just roll up and wait. Downside is you are then stood right in the way of everything. Very tight and congested bar area. Got too much and I had to step outside. That said, lovely staff. Good menu and my dinner was great. Large outside area so will return in the summer. Not sure I'd eat inside again as too hectic for me personally. Dog friendly in very small area.
Fabulous food, atmosphere/ambience, service. All in all a great place to meet up with friends and enjoy great food and beers. Lots of outdoor seating too. Love this place! Down sides.....parking is difficult and you can't book.... so be prepared for a wait or arrive early. There's a lovely 4 mile circular walk from the pub too which helps you work up an appetite.
Great food , lovely ambience and fabulous staff. Went with friends for my wife's birthday and we all had a lovely time. We were looked after by Lilly who was really attentive and helpful.
Super home cooked food, excellent choice of beers and wine. The very best Cheshire hospitality.
Found during a work trip. I love this pub. So cosy, the atmosphere and ambience is just perfect. This goes for the food and the drink too. Hats off to all the team as well
If you want to go for a Sunday drive with the family and stop at a traditional country pub then look no further. The bulls head at Mobberley is the place to go. With a great menu, good selection of beers and great staff this is the place to be. This pub is very busy so be prepared to wait for a table or better still book first. You won't be disappointed. You can even take your dog!!
Eaten here many times over many years. It's consistently good. The pub is traditional, cosy nooks, beams and open fires. It's dog friendly. The bar is well sticked and serves a variety of local brewery offerings. The food is delicious.
Lovely cozy country pub. Home cooked food of a very high standard. The menu has something for everyone. Service is great, staff are very attentive. Highly recommend
Sorry Bulls head, we have been customers of yours for years, but something has changed in the last 6 months and the food is actually quite awful now. I’d say we come for meals once a month, last night was the worst. There were four of us, no one enjoyed their starter or main. Everything was just stodgy and tasted cheap and low quality. The chicken burger used to be fresh and lovely, last night it was honestly like the chicken was from a frozen supermarket with greasy chips and both of the pies were cold inside. We told a staff member, he asked if we wanted anotherno and then just shrugged it off. Not sure if they have changed hands or are getting cheaper ,inferior food from somewhere else - either way we won’t be returning.
