Nice pub ideal for a base to walk around the lovely countryside from. Modern decor and a very nice lunch menu. I had a stilton and banana baguette with chips which certainly was different and would definitely recommend to anyone trying out this pub. The lady serving was really friendly and looked after us well. Will return for sure. Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options and not the usual boring standard ones. Parking: Quite a large car park by the pub
Had a curry chicken burger and spiced chips ....very nice and quite busy for a Tuesday night ......soup here is the best especially after a chilly dip in the lake

Planned to eat here but no response to my email so popped in for a quick drink instead before taking one of their recommended walks around Pickmere Lake.
Here i am reviewing th Red lion yet again!!! I love it. Yes, it occasionally is not perfect, but who the devil is? It's a great pub venue. Good service, good food, and great atmosphere. And lovely beers too.
Friendly helpful staff, roaring log fires during the winter, even a vegan option on the menu. Childrens play area and seating outside also .Food: 3/5
