Nice cinema in the heart of Brixton.nThe main screen room looks like a theatre..... amazing old style decor.nnThe only issue is that screen 1 is too cold and the temperature needed to be adjusted. Also the toilets need a deep clean, as there is a strong stench of urine. Other than that, we had a nice time
Used to come here all the time when living in Brixton back in the 2000s, and the place hasn't changed. The main theatre is still as beautiful, service is still hit and miss no one checked our ticket when entering the cinema, all in all it's a landmark and institution, long may it continue.
The venue has a lovely roof top so you can have drinks out there overlooking Brixton and all its glory. There was an event at the venue, it's a great place for events. The only drawback is the stairs are too many, I have bad knees so to have to go down stairs for a drink then back up to dance then back down to go to the toilet was too much for me.
Nice cinema in the heart of Brixton high road, went for an independent film premiere screening, which is great because not all cinemas screen similar films. The cafe looked nice and staff were kind and helpful, Good vibes overall.
The cinema feels dirty and didn’t smell great. Another time I went too early and got shouted at for trying to get in when they were closed. Also in winter they had no heating in one screen. They did offer blankets, but I wasn’t thrilled as everything feels a bit run down and dirty.
