Changed menu. Found the lamb was tough and the person who ordered found it too tough to finish. The fish and chips were ok but not up to the standard we're used to when we usually go there. Portion control leaves a bit to be desired as there was a vast difference in quantity and presentation of the 2 plates of fish and chips ordered.
Great location at start of old town high street. Seems to be enough free parking. Hotel is character building with corridors that you can get lost down! Food is good at reasonable prices. Staff seem very attentive and friendly. Nearby activities: Plenty of places to eat and drink within mediate walking distance, shops and other amenities only a short drive.
Lovely room. Very clean and well decorated. Staff great, polite and explained everything. Restaurant very accommodating. Food good, service pretty good. Venue great for the family party we were attending that night. Thanks to all. We would definitely use The Cromwell Hotel again.Rooms: 4/5
Absolutely delightful hotel in a lovely part of Stevenage. We didn't eat but the room was very comfy, lovely decoration and a hot, powerful shower.Rooms: 5/5
Had a great stay here for my friends baby shower. Staff are really helpful and friendly. Rooms are gorgeous and very comfortable. Breakfast was to delicious. Rooms: I stayed in a single room, was very spacious. Bathroom was very nice, even had a bath.
Stayed here for New Years. Nice place, always good for entertainment, cleanliness, and space. This particular visit to The Cromwell felt it could be a lot better. While the service was slow literally zero efficiency, we were served nonetheless, but when the bar closed, the bar staff didn't notify us but simply put a "Bar Closed" sign up and walked out. When we notified other staff, we asked what had happened, and we could see the member of staff look through the tiny gap, as us but refused to come and tell us it was closed. Creepy. The only saving grace was the manager was told, and he simply serviced us right away. I mean, there are other hotels and the Stevenage High Street is a nice place for a drink.
First time here, stay was for work one night, I had room 101, one of the smaller rooms with a single bed, I knew it was a single room and for the price it was good nice size bathroom with bath and shower, one small note if having a shower you may not have a lot of headroom, it was clean and warm, good staff and pleasant, remember to put your reg in on arrival or you will get a ticket, as run by parking eye. Good location to pubs and restaurants, if you are missing anything there is a tescos opposite. Over a good stay.
Terrible location, we were in a room opposite a nightclub, didn't get to sleep until 3.30am, no double glazing, why put us in this room on a Saturday night? Breakfast nice, but staff were not very efficientRooms: 3/5
Friday evening, Dining experience. Staff were welcoming, polite & friendly. Food was exceptional as was service. Good selection of drinks at barService: 5/5
Beautiful hotel, with comfortable rooms. A little dark in places wall lights a bit dim, but window made it mostly bright during day. Much bigger carpark than you think, just remember its one way.Rooms: 5/5
