"Traditional Village Pub dating back to 17th century. Set in the heart of Allesley Village on the outskirts of Coventry. It has a separate lounge and tucked away by the back door you will find a tiny snug. Just outside to the rear is a small patio area and a garden area beyond the car park Also, this must be one of the last pubs in Coventry to still have its original outside toilet facilities Please note car access is narrow both on entry and exit. Under new management from mid December 2022. We look forward to welcoming you soon"

Disregard reviews prior to 16th December 2022 when the pub re-opened under new management. Well, that is, the same management as the Old Windmill in the centre of Coventry, so expect to see only good reviews in the future! It's early days so keep an eye on their Facebook page for food, but otherwise expect a clean, comfortable pub with a good selection of well-kept drinks and happy customers. Well done team - I'll be back.
Character pub, great locals, open fires, choice of beers and events. Also it's nice to hear that Michelle owner has taken over this pub as well as running the windmill in Coventry. Great lovely manager, and staff. The very best to all.
Spent a few hours in the company of the locals, very friendly, managed by superb landlords giving out free hot food to all while watching the six nations 5hosts
Decided to drop into this pub on a sunny Sunday afternoon with a friend and our children whilst out on a bike ride. From out outside front seemed nice a little and periodic Villiage pub. Inside was looking rather run down, very little atmosphere. Waited at the bar whilst the barmaid finished her cigarette out back. Ordered some drinks consisting of lemon and limes, orange juice and lemonade and a glass of water. We did ask for a tomato juice to which the response from the barmaid was "was is that?". Not sure I have ever been to a pub, bar or restaurant where the bar staff do not know what tomato juice is, needless to say they didn't have any of this mystical drink either. We decided to go and sit in the beer garden as there was a kids playground. Sadly this was as neglected and rundown as the inside. Rotton tables, a uses fire barrell and a tree with a very large broken branch dangling down right over the tables and children's play area, a big health and safety risk if you ask me. A quick call to the tree surgeon and a good tidy up is definitely required. However this won't solve the smell coming from the mountain of rubbish and bin bags that sit just a few feet away around the overspilling bins. All in all, I don't see myself returning to this place, which is such a shame considering the amount of potential a building like this has.
Lovely old pub, great selection of beer and great food, friendly atmosphere and staff...
Lovely atmosphere and great cheeseboard. Particularly recommend the fortnightly tuesday pub quiz!
Been a few times for an Army reunion. Always well looked after and looking forward to the June meeting this year
Very well kept beer, friendly staff. Above average pub food menu. Good atmosphere. There are several pubs closer to me but I prefer to walk an extra mile to this and call it my “local.”
We've been here a couple of times since it reopened, and cant seem to leave! Such an amazing atmosphere and a really fun night :
Lovely beer dog friendly staff, coal fireplace to warm yourself after a walk in the park.
