The Holyhead has started to become my regular weekend stop off for food and a drink. Value for money good meals, and the dog is welcome too. However after a nice meal I ordered the Exton mess sundae which When it came was just a glass of cream and fruit. when I asked where the ice cream was and isn’t it squirted cream for a Sunday I was answered we don’t use squirted cream we use whipped cream, well no one has bothered to whip and I certainly know after 50 yrs what Ice cream is and there was certainly no ice cream in it. Not an apology,do you want to change it, or anything. So just to let you know if you want to buy the Sunday this is what you will be getting!
Very nice pub inside and outside. Food is great, friendly stuff. We had a nice time everytime we've been here. Highly recommend.
Very nice place with lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Table serving great with tasty food....definitely I will go again. I strongly recommend
Ventured there from across town, warm and welcoming atmosphere, the food menu had a good selection and reasonably priced, was annoyed at the barmaid who blatantly ignored us in favour for someone who was clearly a pub regular and thought their custom was more important. Having said that the food was hot and tasty, the server was very pleasant.
Stopped in for lunch, and I ordered lasagne with side salad and a side of fries plus garlic bread , the meal came lovely and hot very tasty, cleared my plate. The service was excellent no complaints at all,, pleasant friendly staff a great team in place, working in a beautifully decorated pub / restaurant. I've ordered many different dishes off the extensive menu, and I have no complaints at all. Lovely afternoon out, well done to everyone who works there.
Recent refurbishment is very nice, opened up the pub inside with new furnishings and furniture too. There was a decent mainstream selection of lagers/ales on offer, drinks menus to help choose and friendly staff on hand for advice. Enjoyed our stay, didn't have food on this occasion so will review that another time.
Usually busy, service is pretty good and drinks are reasonably priced. Never eaten here so can't comment on the food. It a place I like to call in in the late afternoon or early evening to meet and chat with friends. Can get totally packed out on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Had our first ever Christmas Day dinner out and from start to finish was just amazing! The food was beautiful and plentiful and the staff were so attentive and friendly! Will definitely be booking again for next year and would highly recommend! Well done & thank you to The Holyhead!!
Good service from staff, poor beer quality. Beer taste like it was poured the night before straight from the tap. Peroni warm Stella even worse. Highly recommend going somewhere else.
Nice place, friendly staff, absolutely awful food. Soup that stuck to the spoon, I wonder if the chef has made the right career choice if he/she is unable to provide bread with the soup without burning it to a crisp. Beggars belief really. With the exception of the guiness pie, everything was overcooked.
