Lovely garden area with amazing food, the price was fair and the location is nice a quiet too! They are dog friendly too! Always a bonus.
These were my starters as you can see no presentation ,the calamari was just chucked on the plate and the koftas were dry and burnt.They were sent straight back. When we went to order off the menu,the first two attempts we were told they had ran out,We should be told what’s not available on the menu firstly. The waitress had an attitude problem and only cleared our table after food and our drinks glasses were piled high by the end of the evening. We were seated next to to disabled toilets and they smelt disgusting and was dirty.I never put up bad reviews about places and never usually moan as I work in the restaurant industry myself,but this place has really gone down the hill and it’s such a shame to see.
On our recent visit to The White Lion which was a party of 19 we all enjoyed our meals and excellent service. We had a problem with the service charge but that was all sorted within the week by the Manager to my satisfaction. In the future rather than reading the small print at the bottom of the menu about the service charge it would save happening again if it was made more clearly verbally. I have had many meals with my family and friends over many years and I would always recommend highly the Food and service. I shall be visiting again very soon.
Poor quality food - fantastic waiting staff.. this is their Calamari starter! Chewy and tasteless didn’t even come with a bit of Lemon to give it some taste - shame as it’s a nice pub and the waiting staff are lovely but what comes out the kitchen doors is very poor
Myself and a friend had a superb lunch catch up here today. I can't fault the food or the service in any way. Jane was attentive, friendly and polite, and our meals were spot on. We had a lovely leisurely time, with no pressure to hurry up or move on, and so we even stuck around for puddings. We will definitely be making a return visit.
Range of mains on the half price off was good and when the food arrived it was well cooked and full of flavour. Staff were pleasant, obliging, and capable. We were given time to finish the food and not at all rushed. This made the real fire a treat to enjoy before we went off into the wind and rain. An extra to the meal much appreciated.

Lovely atmosphere- staff friendly. We had to wait quite a while for the food to arrive our waitress did tell us when we ordered that there was a delay on the food It didn’t spoil our evening. A lovely meal - will definitely return.
We had a lovely meal & desert , service was pleasant, general ambience was good . My main issues are disability related . The menu print is quite small, not sure how to use the disabled entrance or if it is in use. But will ask about these things when visiting again. The food was well presented of the usual good cooking standard.
Really nice country pub, we only had drinks but the food looks amazing. While we were in there getting a drink we actually heard people being turned away due to them being fully booked. So I would definitely give them a call before turning up to eat.
