I went to a music evening upstairs. It was an excellent venue for that. Downstairs, the bar was well-decorated, clean and characterful. The staff were very friendly and one of the barmaids helped me to carry my drinks upstairs because I have a bit of a limp.
Looks really nice and very welcoming. Wide range of drinks. My only gripe would be there was only one member of staff during a rainy day and with these covid rules, service was slow. The girl herself was pleasant but too busy to talk.
What a find! We were looking for a Sunday Roast but were told that they didn't sell them in the summer as demand was low. We opted for Steak and Fish & chips, while the kids both had ham and eggs. Everything was really good. Service was spot on, and the music perfectly suited a Sunday afternoon. We will definitely be back.
Great pub. The staff are the key here and they are extremely friendly but also very keen to enjoy themselves at their work. The food looked very wholesome indeed and the gin & tonic with cucumber was very tasty. Enjoyed my visit and if in Lewes again will definately re-visit.
Lovely beer, and friendly service paired with some of the best pub food I've had, highly recommend.

Many pubs in Lewes have changed hands, I honestly think the Oak is the only one which has improved. Really nicely renovated, stylish but comfortable. The staff are really friendly. Great beer selection they also serve cocktails and good looking menu. Went for a roast yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed my nut roast! Good job guys
