…Once a busy umbrella factory, Rain Bar has been transformed into a modern, stylish bar with extensive outdoor seating terrace that's perfect for a relaxing drink by the canal.

Enjoy a selection of JW Lees cask ales, lagers, craft beers, fine wines, popular spirits, and soft drinks, there's something to suit all tastes, whilst our attentive bar staff, ensure you a warm welcome whatever the weather.

The bar serves traditional pub food.

The Rain Bar restaurant operates a ‘walk in’ policy, which means no booking is necessary. A word of warning though, be sure to arrive early, when the sun is out!

Have something to celebrate? Rain Bar’s exclusive first floor bar and outdoor terrace is available for private functions. Why not speak to our staff about our bespoke buffet service? We can tailor our buffet menu to suit your needs.

Looking for something more formal? The boardroom situated on the 2nd floor is perfect for meetings and can be converted into the perfect ceremony room for weddings.

Rain Bar is licensed for ceremonies and we can host up to 50 guests, accommodate 50 guests for a wedding breakfast and even provide a bespoke buffet for up to 120 guests at your reception.

With excellent transport links, within walking distance of the city centre, an abundance of hotels nearby and the beautiful back drop of the canal lock, Rain Bar is the perfect location for your special day.

I visited this establishment for the first time yesterday and was quite impressed. It is certainly one of the finest pubs in Manchester, particularly on a sunny day. The food was excellent, and I sampled the Manchester Lager for the first time, which was quite enjoyable. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the overall experience was very positive.
I have been to Rain bar a number of times over the years. Wonderful outdoor garden perfect for summer and even outdoor heating during the colder times of year. Always a great atmosphere, with a great pint of Guinness. Not too expensive either.Service: 5/5
Really lovely pub. It's a great space - whether you want to sit outside overlooking the canal, or in a tiny little corner or in the bright main area. We had chicken BLT with fries. Fries were ace & the sandwich was huge. Friendly staff too

Easy 5 star, across the board. Look at the size of that piece of fish. This was the MPA battered fish and chips. I was warned it was big when I order the large serve. But I am near bursting now. I had a MPA beer with it. This wasn't as cold as I'd like, but a minor issue, it was a good beer. Dietary restrictions: Also, they're very conscious of dietary restrictions, and ask each patron when ordering.
We had our wedding reception here back at the end of April 2023. Of course, we knew Rain Bar for years as a great bar with outdoor space by the canal which was why we thought of it. It was absolutely amazing, beautiful newly renovated function room, great service through the evening, great food - loads of guest compliments to the chef! There were individual yummy gluten-free platters for our celiac guests which they really appreciated. Special thanks to Alex with whom we met to plan everything and very special thanks to Sarah who set up our decorations thoughtfully and beautifully. About 60 odd guests, plenty of space to dance and chat with drinks. Seating for family members who needed it. The area is so lovely with the fairy lights and the canal, we took some of our wedding couple shots there. Could not recommend this venue enough for events!
Rainbar is a great venue. With current market condition, we need a venue partner that is well aware of what is going on in the market place. Fingers on the pulse and genuine in service. No fakery. Vegetarian options: I am a veggie and am happy!
Had a pleasant hour here last night on the way to the Bridgewater Hall which is close by. Spacious, comfortable bar with excellent attentive and friendly staff and an acceptable gin selection! Only downside were the two starters we had as a snack which were small, tasteless and therefore overpriced! Maybe the kitchen was having an off night!
Cracking pub fantastic ales service is excellent staff brilliant,wonderful surroundings,food is out of this world I had the double brisket burger and I have to say it was the best burger I had in my life so juicy and moist and the chips were gorgeousFood: 5/5
