Stayed at the corner with 2 friends in Oct 2024. We really liked the location it’s close to the tube and to a lot of nice restaurants, bars and pubs. The staff was also very nice and helpful. The room was overall nice and clean, but we had some issues. We were 3 people staying in 1 room so one person slept on the sofa bed which was more of a very solid sofa than a bed. Felt like sleeping on bricks and hav a ditch right through the bed which you fell into all the time. We talked to the staff about this and they were accommodating to try and help but unfortunately the solutions were not very good. A proper bed topper could have solved the issue. Or even better - just invest in good extra beds. The door to the bathroom is a sliding door and has large gaps between the wall and the door which lets through EVERY little sound coming from the bathroom. When turning on the light in the bathroom you also get a lot of light in the rest of the room. Two things that are very inconvenient and gives little to none privacy when sharing a room with any other person. Overall we liked the hotel and the staff were super nice, but our stay could have been so much better with just a proper bed topper and a bathroom door that actually close.
This is certainly a more unique hotel in the area, so if you’re looking for something a little different it’s worth considering. I had a room on one of the lower floor levels, which didn’t make for the best first impressions, since the corridors are a little dated and the lack of airflow is noticeable. However the room itself was perfectly comfortable for a single night’s stay. Given it had no windows it was perfectly quiet although the location of the air-conditioning unit meant it chilled the entrance area rather than the sleeping area of the room. If was nice for a large glass bottle of water to be provided and there were plenty of electric sockets next to the bed. Lighting was decent, a good numbers of towels and storage space, and plenty of unique artwork and design to admire. The bathroom was spacious enough with good toiletries and nice storage space in the shower itself. Checking in and out was a bit of a pain since the staff insist you use the touch screens, which aren't the most intuitive and actually didn't offer all the options I needed, such as obtaining an invoice. Given the maze of corridors beneath ground, the hotel could also benefit from some better signage. I was surprised to find the restaurant busy throughout my stay, especially given the alternative options in the area. But it’s helped by the fact the bar is open 24 hours a day - a great unique feature. The bar staff are friendly, the service is quick and the prices reasonable given the hotel location. There isn’t a huge amount of seating but it was a great facility. If the price was right I’d consider staying here again for a short stopover but if you’re looking for something a little different I’d recommend.
If you're looking for something quirky, then this is for you.... It wasn't for me unfortunately. The rooms are pretty small, I had no window, hardly any light available within the bedroom area and the bed was pretty firm. I did like the atmosphere in the bar area but I don't think the hotel is for me.Rooms: 3/5
I visited this spot for two nights in June 2024. The facilities were clean. The breakfast well arranged with choices. The interior rooms can be quite warm. We had an issue our first night with no AC. We were told to use a fan and that was the end of the customer service. The next morning I was asked how our night was, and we explained in full. The morning customer service was literally night and day over the previous evening. We were moved to a different room before we returned from Breakfast. Location is central but can be dodgy in the evenings. Not a bad spot, but have stayed in better hotels in London. Most likely won't return.
Amazing hotel with everything needed in central location next to the tube. They even give you a voucher for a drink if your room was not cleaned do not disturb sign hanged on your door. Good breakfast, coffee/tee machine and iron self-service on each floor. Nice menu at the red and at the bar. Great soundproofing, powerful hairdryer in the room. A bit small standard room for a stay of a week. We spent a lot of time outside so it did not bother us. Highly recommended!
I LOVED this hotel. The vibes were extremely relaxing. The friendly staff and the attention to the smallest details is what made me extremely happy and relaxed there. Check-in was extremely smooth very late at night, the staff at the time also went over and beyond by warming up my food since I had been on a long flight. The next day Maria offered to take photos of me in their gorgeous seating area and we had an amazing conversation. I used their luggage storage it was easy and safe. Additionally, I had fish and chips there because the hotel's restaurant was very beautiful and it was AMAZING. I highly recommend them as a great hangout spot, food, and housing. The rooms were spacious, and I appreciated the small things that made my stay very convenient such as having European outlets, and light switches right on the side of the bed. Having fresh water in a nice glass bottle and cups already in the room. Like I said, it was the small details that made this space stand out especially even beyond their beautifully designed hotel and exceptional hospitality. The location was perfect for a female solo traveler's first time in London. Lastly, their drive to be green/upcycle/ being environmentally friendly made me happy!
We were a table of seven, we only had a dinner as we didn't stay at the hotel. Lovely service and and atmosphere, loving the plants as well. Two downsides were, the food & drinks were a bit late & I was informed that my steak was unavailable by the time everyone else got there meals, an unacceptable issue and first time for my self to experience it as well. I had to order a black burger instead while others were ready to eat and I had to wait till my burger was done. But in no time the burger was served and my god that was delicious. All me family had good comments on the food overall. Black Burger was heaven! Nom nom.
The modular plasticky bathroom reminds me of a Travelodge, but certainly upgraded, with a large shower and better details. Coffee and other facilities in a shared corner of the corridor good luck finding them. Spacious, modern and trendy design, I found having the TV attached to the feet of the bed quite annoying. Some nuisance from the road, even if tucked away from traffic occasional loud passer by, better keep the windows shut. Feels a bit overpriced considering the location, but hipster types would love it. Noteworthy details: Interesting design, quirky, trendy style.
i had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. both check in and check out were very smooth. they offered to keep our suitcase the last day after we checked out for free. the room was very comfy and quiet. the tea/coffee machine next to the room was very convenient and a nice addition. they also provided water in the room and refilled it every time. the shower was hot and spacious, and the room was very clean. the breakfast was also very good, there is a huge choice and the quality is better than the average breakfast buffet. the vegan croissants were excellent. the location is extremely convenient if you arrive from stansted because the bus stops at whitechapel which is a 10 minutes walk. the subway station aldgate east is a 4 minutes walk and there are bus stops very close too. in a walkable distance you can go to a lot of places too. there is a tesco very close to the hotel too.
Great little place to stay and super cheap by London standards. Room was quiet, bathroom was good, shower was awesome; although very compact, it was funky and functional - everything I needed. Bar great, food was awesome.Rooms: 3/5
