Very nice store for musicians to find instruments and their accessories. I do think it could be a bit neater as there were sections where stuff was just in piles with no organization. I did not interact with the staff so I can't give an opinion on the service. Overall I think it's a neat place to visit.
Nice range of product and prices are generally ok. I wouldn't recommend their setup service though, it took weeks and when I turned up to ask where my guitar was I saw the guy doing setups with guitars on the floor of the shop, so not very professional - this was a few years ago so perhaps it has improved so I will give the benefit of the doubt here.
Went in to find a decent acoustic guitar for my son as he needs a better quality guitar, a guy named Nathan explained differences and set up my son with an amp the same as his, didn't buy on the day as didn't have the money, but will go back to get one of the talkers! We have used this shop before, and will go back as the help from staff really makes a difference. Also prices matched from online. Internet price, local shop service!
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. As an example - I had a cheap guitar setup there a couple of years ago, they put in huge efforts in levelling frets etc, far exceeded my expectations for what I paid.
A guitar shop should at least have a good selection of guitar strings. Not here. The website said they had the strings I wanted but the cupboard was bare. I was told "oh we're not very good on that". A few sets of Martin stings and rows of empty racks is not good enough for a "Professional" music shop. This is not the first time this has happened.
Sad to have to write a bad review for this shop but my teenage son and his friend had a very poor experience there. They were made to feel very unwelcome by a staff member who harassed my son's pal for picking up a budget tanglewood guitar and playing without asking. There are ways to interact with customers if you want them to follow your shop rules but being unpleasant is not on. He even got told "I told you guys not to touch the guitars" when one of then touched the neck of a hanging guitar. I've purchased a guitar from here in the past and found the service great. I guess they just don't like teenagers. Don't be a stereotypical grumpy music store attendant. Pity, because this is a good shop but the staff need some manners.
I spent a lot of time discussing PA and microphone options with various members of staff who were all very knowledgeable and helpful. A very good service and great to have the opportunity to try the equipment before making your investment.
Fantastic knowledgeable and friendly staff, great pricing. Second visit in 12 months and the first was enough to convince me there's no reason to even think of going anywhere else.
I went to PMT today mainly to try an acoustic guitar that I’m interested in buying. I went with a group of my friend we are all really musical and when we walked in we were greeted with a hello and then we asked to play some instrument and that when we met Tiago. His customer service was incredible, he was so lovely and was very passionate about his job he proceeded to take us around the store and helped us when we need. He is a lovely human being and genuinely very easy to talk to and very funny. Made mine and my friends experience in PMT really lovely as we planned on staying only 10 minutes but ended up staying an hour because we were enjoying ourselves so much.
An absolute pleasure to shop in PMT Cambridge for my first time. Chris has been approachable, really professional and extremely helpful with my purchase. PMT Cambridge has got a new client thanks to him. Thanks! Update Disappointed after my last visits to PMT. All the opposite to the describe above applies to the staff I found in the store in the last few weeks/months.
