Staff here are literally trash. They’re so rude and ignorant, maybe learn some customer service? I’m writing an honest review so people can make a decision on going there. When I went in to trade a phone in I was originally told they had ‘no cash’.. on a Saturday? And when they advertise ‘sell your stuff for CASH’ everywhere. Then I was told it would take 2 hours for the tester to test an iPhone 5c. Also when grading this phone they actually broke part of it right in front of me and tried to degrade it and I wasn’t having any of it and got them to change the decision. When I came back after 2 hours I spoke to someone different who gave me cash, so clearly had been lied to in the beginning. The shop is so dirty and absolutely stinks like a public toilet. Wouldn’t ever go again. I’ll go next door to Game.

My husband and I visited the Cambridge CEX store to purchase 3 DVD. Simple you would think. 4 customers in front of us and 5 cashiers serving we waited and waited. All 5 cashiers thought it was a good idea to look over and check goods that people had brought in to sell and no till to serve customers who wanted to purchase items. We waited 25 minutes to be served the queue was 15 customers long all moaning why it was taking so long. I politely asked the young lady who opened her till who was the manager she said she was. I politely suggested it might be a good idea to have 3 tills for customers who want to sell things and 2 tills for customers to buy items to keep the queue moving and everyone happy,to which the supervisor replied 'we can't because it's busy' I said I know that is what I mean. Explaining we have waited 25 mins to be served I repeated myself but got the same reply from her we can't etc........ . We purchased our DVD and walked out . My Husband checked the films and we had been given the incorrect disc so had to go back.!!!!!! Please consider my suggestion for a number of tills just to BUY FROM CUSTOMERS AND THE OTHERS FOR CUSTOMERS TO BUY GOODS FROM YOURSELF.

Good value and fairly quick service. Selection can be a bit hit and miss depending on stock levels however it is easy to check this online in advance. The only thing I would request is the chance to reserve online for collection

Went to trade in my iPhone for cash, the store accepted my phone and told me that they would call me within 3 hours if there was a problem. If there was no call then they would transfer me the money. I got a call 24 hours later saying my phone had a problem (which also did not exist before I handed them the phone) and that I had to pick it up within 2 weeks otherwise It would have been destroyed. I understand they reserve the right to reject phones, however I was in Cambridge that day (I live in London) and had the phone on me so thought I would offload it. With them reassuring me that I would know within a few hours whether or not they would accept the phone. So I returned a week later to pick up my phone, having spent nearly as much money to travel to Cambridge just to collect the phone as I would have got initially from them. I told the store about the situation and didn't get any compensation or even an apology for wasting my time, money and they told me that I was lying about a store worker who told me to wait 3 hours. Unbelievably at the exact same moment a lady was selling her phone and the store told her to "wait 3 hours for any problems and if they didn't call within then, they would accept the phone for that price." What sort of customer service is this where they lie to customers, don't believe them and offer no support for their own mistakes. All they did was downgrade the quality of the phone and offer me £70 less than the original offer. I went next door to Game where they offered me the same price initially as CEX, said the fault that CEX picked up on was not even an issue and guess what, they called me within an hour to tell me that the phone was fine and I got my money. In conclusion this is rubbish customer service, (I didn't even mention the 40 minute wait to speak to someone both times I went) and having used CEX for a number of years to trade in items, would not go back. Just use GAME, especially as it is next door.
