Food was amazing, service was very good. The bar itself is very rustic and traditional, which isn't my kind of thing. It's very popular too, so noisy and quite cramped when trying to move around on a Saturday evening. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a good pub meal. Particularly if you're able to visit during the quieter hours.
Popped in for a drink, food looked and smelt so good we had a meal! Excellent food , good menu! Made to feel really welcome by all, great team behind the bar & in the kitchen. Great beer, well kept. Service: 5/5
The Plough is always our go-to place, whenever we've had a day in York. Each time we've been, the service has always been great along with the food too! Such a lovely pub with a fabulous vibe. They always seem to have delicious things on their specials menu, along with their regular meals in the menus. I decided to be a bit different this time and try the game pie from the specials board, and it did not disappoint! A great crust, PACKED FULL of meat definitely no scrimping here! The rest of the meal was brilliant and everyone else's meals were piping hot and delicious too. I'd certainly recommend The Plough to anyone looking for a relaxed vibe, great service and great food!any thanks to you!
Went here last night with my family. The place was full when we arrived and there was a great buzz about the place. The staff were attentive and helpful. The food was plentiful, of excellent quality and well priced for what it is i.e. much better than most of what we have elsewhere. Dog friendly too. We had a lovely time and I will certainly be returning.
We didn't stay at the plough, we ate there. If the food and service was anything to go by we should have stayed there rather than where we did !! Had to book a table, it was a Friday, they were rammed...great atmosphere, plenty of locals etc. The food was quite possibly the best we've eaten in a local pub it's that simple. Freshly cooked, well presented and fab value for money. Good size portions, propper chips !! Not frozen oven cooked can't remember the last time I saw home peeled and deep fried chips...burgers were huge and super tasty, everything was incredible. Go there, eat there and decide for yourself...you won't be disappointed
Stayed before Christmas for one night... great location only a five minute taxi to central York... staff very welcoming and friendly and helpful.. they let us check in early which was very helpful... rooms are above the pub.. which is handy..... the breakfast is second to none..and plentyfull... definitely will stay again...5 stars all round. Rooms: Beautifully decorated rooms . with antique furniture.. with a lovely warm feeling to them.... Beds are very comfortable and also very clean and well presented. Can't wait to stay again.
Love the Plough Inn. Met with friends today for lunch, all meals were very tasty, Hunters Chicken, Fish and Chips and Gammon. My friends had not been before and really liked the traditional pub and the vibe the place had. Carry on doing what you are doing!
Lovely pub, with parking and beer garden at the back. Fast and kind service, reasonable prices and good food. Chicken Stilton was lovely changed my chips for peas for lower carbs.Rooms: 5/5
Meaty burger but fairly sure it was microwaved to warm it up. Fajitas were not great just take them off the menu. No check back from the staff and I won’t be rushing back.Service: 3/5
Disappointed with my Sunday Lunch. Meat was tough to cut. Veg were great apart from roast potatoes were hard. Shame really as I've always had good meals there beforeService: 4/5
