The poor fish in the pond has a disease sort it out.. looks like they were having work done in the bar of some kind.. rustic pub it's ok
We booked a room and arrived quite late but they were OK with this but the gentleman said they are not doing breakfast due to cost of living, when I'd asked about breakfast as this was shown on my confirmation that it was included. The room was very nice and the book about the hotel also said breakfast was included. To my surprise when we left our room this morning there was a comment book and to my shock someone had said yesterday they had a lovely breakfast. I'm not happy as it took a further hour to find somewhere to eat
Please update your Google business listing. I walked here for a meal and I was told they no longer service food and haven't done for over a year. Your Google listing shows a menu and numerous photos of food.
Great place. All the staff were excellent. Heather was extremely accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Superb breakfast. The room was excellent value for money. Lovely outdoor seating area. The Bay Horse is located just on the outskirts of York within easy reach of the city walls, shops and the market. We will definitely stay there again.
Lovely old inn. Charming old rooms. We were happy the pub was open the day we got there and sad we couldn't have a pint on second night.
Was there on sat after york pride, the guys doing the live music was epic, great song choices fab voices and got everyone singing along!! Bar staff great, to say how busy it got they were quick and happy to serve.
Amazing little b and b. Nice, old pub feel with friendly staff. The quality of the room was excellent and then there was the famous full English breakfast, which was class! Not far from all the amenities, train station etc.
Had a lovely stay they were so welcoming room was amazing,heather who did breakfast was so delightful could not do enough for you,the only fault with the room was the pillows want replacement they were too thin,will go back
Excellent little family owned pub B&B, ran by Heather & Lorna, mum & daughter along with staff. My wife and self had a four days/three nights midweek break, late March 2022 and the sun shone warmly for us. What a cracking pub B&B. Private pub car park at back. We had a large double room with large bathroom, loadsa space with brewing up kit too. Breakfast comes as part of the deal. Plenty of cereals, fruit and juice along with DIY toast. The full English breakfast is great, order is taken at the table, so up to the individual as to what and how much and as much tea or coffee as you like. It really sets you up for the day. Then sit outside and enjoy their pleasant pub yard/garden to finish your tea and read the papers, or not. The Bay Horse is in a great location, just 260 metres from the town wall with a bus stop almost directly opposite to go into the heart of the city. The bus services are so frequent, we didn't wait more than five minutes for a bus, it's not worth using the car as traffic and parking can be horrendous. Being York, there are plenty of pubs and eateries, the same applies to the vicinity of The Bay Horse. So, a big thank you to Heather & Lorna. Also to chief cook, Heather another one and Raya who waited on for us, a big thank you too. You all made our stay so pleasant and memorable. We'll be back! Just remember, when you do visit. It is a pub B&B, if you go bed early, you will here the pub below.
Had a great time away made even better with our stay at the Bay Horse. Made very welcome by All and fantastic choices for breakfast, nothing was too much trouble . Would definitely stay again .. thank you All at the Bay Horse
