Parking is free and entry in free...so what are you waiting for. It has the full story of Glasgow across 3 floors, as well as a cafe & toilets. There is also a lift if you can't handle the stairs. Spent 2 hours here before closing at 5pm. Will definitely be back, as I feel there is more to digest.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo

I visited people’s palace with my partner and it was our first visit here. We spent about an hour and we really enjoyed looking at the history of Glaswegians and learning about the culture. We didn’t drive to the site but we have been told the parking is free. If you’re using public transport it’s worth noting that it’s a 20-25 minute walk from St Enoch station. Also, Glasgow green is a 5 minute walk from the people’s palace.
I love this museum, It should be more popular!! The information inside is very well displayed, with big wall pictures, we can see the inside of rooms dating to the beginning of the 20th centuries and objects that explain how people lived. The topics covered: the first, the second world war, the house crisis, poverty, justice, entertainment and holiday. The pictures taken are moving, mixing slums and group of children playing in the building stairs, it made me feel both lucky to be able to live in a proper house, but also nostalgic to an era that I didn't know, when neighbours knew each other and whose children could play around without restriction/fear of strangers. This museum is for me a rare exemple of the right level of text to inform and well displayed to be eye-catching. In addition, the person at the entrance of the museum was really nice, he said hello and goodbye with a big smile.
Free entrance for everyone. What a lovely place! A splendid way to travel backwards in time! This place truly caters to the public, keeping diverse areas vibrant. The stunning architecture and garden surroundings could easily pass as a filming location for "Downton Abbey." Kudos to the incredibly kind individuals standing at the entrance all day, braving the cold to offer every visitor a proper welcome! Ensure you contribute a small donation to play your part in sustaining this establishment I've included the QR code in one of the pictures.
Free place to go and explore! The museum was really interesting and had a lot of cool displays and parts of the exhibits. I loved the interactive bits and thought it was a perfect spot to get out of the rain and read about Glaswegian history.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Absolutely loved our visit to the People's Palace! The kids had a great time, with lots of fun interactive learning. There were fascinating pieces for the adults too. A great place to learn about Glasgows vibrant history.
It is a bit tired, so the scheduled revamp will reinvigorate this much loved place. Needs more interactive exhibits to get the young generation enthused.Wait time1 hr+
I was visiting a friend in Glasgow and he mentioned, as he knew I liked history, to go to The People's Palace which is just a little walk from the main city center of Glasgow. As we got there you are greeted with a beautiful green park with a big obelisk right in the centre of the Park which is dedicated to the late Lord Nelson, victor of the Battle of Trafalgar. Erected only a year after the battle, the funds were raised by public subscription during the countrywide outpouring of grief which followed the death of the victorious admiral. Walking towards the front of the Museum, you see a great big fountain which was first erected in Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Park for the 1888 International Exhibition. Then in 1890, the whole fountain was transported two and a half miles to a new location on Glasgow Green. It was then moved for a second time in 2004 to outside the front entrance of the People’s Palace. The fountain depicts the four colonies of the British Empire and then on top of the Fountain, Queen Victoria herself. Going into the Museum itself was a rather interesting walk through time and history, the the left of you when you enter the building is a cafe for you to relax in whether you do that before or after is completely up to you. In certain rooms, there are Costumes for people to dress up in, all being Costumes worn by people from the early years of Glasgow.
Beautiful place with history. Everything was said before. Just one thing: missing garden yet. I've been told that can take several years yet.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
