One of the things I love about living in Yorkshire is how close it is to so many hiking spots. The Peak District National Park is one of my favourites, never disappointing, no matter the weather! The nature always shows its charm and beauty. There are so many trails to explore, so I recommend checking which scenery you’d like to see the most and using an app like AllTrails to plan your route and timing. Make sure you wear something comfy and don’t forget your brolly!
nDovestones Reservoir — Perfect mix of peace and challengennDovestones is one of those places that never gets old. The scenery shifts constantly — reservoirs, woodland paths, open moorland, and rocky ridges — so every hike feels different. You can keep it easy with a loop around the water or head up towards Alphin Pike, Indian Head or the Trinnacle if you fancy some proper climbs and views.nnThe terrain’s a great mix too: smooth in parts, muddy or rocky in others, which keeps things interesting. Even after years of walking it, I still find new little routes and viewpoints.nnNight hiking here is brilliant — peaceful, a bit eerie in the best way, and if the sky’s clear, you get stars for days. Just bring a decent head torch and layers, because it can turn cold fast once the sun drops.nnAll round, Dovestones is easily one of the best spots around Greater Manchester for a proper escape without having to drive hours into the Peaks.
Great for a couple days hiking, bring a raincoat, hiking boots: shoes and plenty of water. I stayed at a hotel but you could camp. There’s brilliant views and nature
Very good place for outing. Very good place for family. And frinds. You can see beautiful seen. You can see Mountains . You can see nature. Parking available nearby. But paid parking only available. Overall 5 star
I been there for first time. Honestly I like the view and amazing place. In that day I travel more than 12 miles, this was incredible. If you need fresh air and relaxing environment this is for you.
