Went here for the Christmas fair. Absolute rip off. Was charged £10 to park the car a 20 minute walk away from the actual house. The walk involved trekking through a muddy field and then walking on a road which had cars driving along it. Not safe for chrildren and inaccessible for the elderly. The house itself was unimpressive for the price, with very little information provided on the history of the house or grounds. Most rooms were full of tacky lighting effects and actors trying to be Charles Dickens characters. The Christmas market itself offered nothing special that one could not find in any city centre Christmas market. There was very little outdoor seating for those who brought sandwiches and almost no shelter from the rain. The toilets were horrid (picture attached). The one redeeming feature was the house gardens were nice, if also over priced.

Absolutely lovely place for a walk, with or without a four legged friend! Beautiful scenery and a massive open park to explore. Also, in the summer, you can sit down by the river and have a picnic in the grounds.
