What a find, late arrival 8:45pm but still willing to accept our party of 8 and a dog for the superb food with the best service we’ve received anywhere during our holiday, actually for a very long time. All staff were smiling and looked happy to be doing there jobs which creates such a good vibe and made us feel relaxed and welcome. Fantastic team, well done to you all
The Quay is one of our local pubs and we sometimes treat ourselves to a meal . Last night we had the best meal yet - my husband had the leek and potato pie with red cabbage and lashings of gravy and I had the hake which was delicious! We noticed that the menu has been reduced but feel there is still something on the menu for everyone’s taste. Well done to the team who are extremely friendly, helpful and attentive. We are having our works Christmas meal at the Quay next week so really looking forward to that!
Located above the creek with views to fields beyond plus well kept real ale and great food one of my favourite pubs. Fish of day and mussels excellent. John and team thanks for some great times!Service: 5/5
We booked on line but no one called to confirm as stated so we took a chance that on a Sunday evening it wouldn't be too busy in the restaurant. I had 2 starters instead of a main...the whitebait was very good....the houmous was a bit bland. My partner's burger was well presented and tasty. The service was good and our waitress was friendly. We were disappointed to be charged differenty from the prices on the menu and overcharged on 3 items. We were refunded when we raised it with the owner. A good point however is that dogs are welcome throughout.
Dream pub. Staying overnight nearby for work. Walked in at 7 on a Saturday evening on my own with no reservation. Immediately warmly welcomed, found a table, beautifully kept pint of local beer in my hand within minutes. Simple, delicious pub food. Places like this are gold dust.
Lunch for 4. Here to feed and not to fatten. A good basic lunch time menu. Clean neat tidy. A busy lunchtime. Staff are really enthusiastic and lovely. We will go again.
Staying just down the road and have eaten here a few times and been here for a few drinks. Nice food nice helpful staff and a good atmosphere.Service: 5/5
As a local living nearby I Love the pub, great setting, staff do a really good job but 5.85 for a medium size house wine has put a stop to my regular visits. I even queried this 25th May and it was confirmed. There is no way this a justifiable price for a few sips of wine.Location: 5/5
Lovely setting, friendly staff and good service but... very disappointing food. The ploughman's salad wasnt much more than some dry bread and a bowl of pickled onions. For £17.50 I was expecting a lot better. It was an extra £2.50 for the ham and only one slice!!! Over priced and underwhelming.
The food was fine and the service was ok to start with but they never returned to collect our mains plates/offer dessert or more drinks, so we eventually went to the bar to pay up and picked up some chocolate for pud at a nearby Spar shop Furthermore there was a table of loud obnoxious men on the table next to us using inappropriate language and conversation I was with my 9 year old daughter for an early dinner - 6pm on a Monday so not exactly rock n roll.
