Well...I've come down to Truro from Plymouth for the day to do a coastal path walk. But first....let's have some breakfast!! Great welcome from the lady who opened up. It was quiet. It's spacious....very. Prompt with the brekky and coffee...all good. Nice feel about the place....its a Wetherspoons!!
Not bad at all nice and clean good friendly staff couldn't ask for more
Large pub, sometimes very busy, but at other times can be quiet. Cheap drinks from about £2 per pint and reasonably priced food. Good value and not a bad pub, but I've been to many Wetherspoon pubs that are better and have more character. Tables are not cleaned very frequently and hence are often sticky.
Great day out in Truro, lots to see and do and a Market just outside Wetherspoons. What more could you ask for!
Would have had a 5 star but there is always trouble here on a Saturday night. Lively place. Too many security staff, too intimidating too customers. Manager thinks he is king and what he says goes no matter the circumstances. Food is ok but is pot luck to how well cooked it will be. Prices are great, cheapest in town
Very moody woman, literally dumped the plate in front of me. I said thank you anyway. As I went to move the plate it literally burnt my finger as the plate was scolding hot. She didn't even warn me! It was a good job I didn't have my toddler with me because if she accidently touched that she could of been seriously hurt. Could hear her being unprofessional behind the counter as well and being rude to the other staff members. Felt very uncomfortable, normally I come into spoons. But it's put me off massively now. So rude and inconsiderate, she needs sacking. That could of been my child that touch that plate and I would have sued happily. Didn't deserve to be treated that way at all, only came in for some breakfast and a coffee. Edited- this woman has blonde hair and was wearing a white top. She is the manager. Shouldn't be managing with an attitude like that, lots of others I know have had issues like this to with her. As someone that used to be a manager myself her attitude absolutely stinks! She's on some power trip when there's no need for it. She doesn't deserve that role. My hand and finger is still sore today.
Really good pub and good prices but when there is an issue with staff and you try and contact head office it's like flogging a dead horse. Its a continuous loop telling you to go online and they never answer your message and the problem never gets resolved and that is very poor customer service as the customer is what keeps these places open. The staff that has caused the upset and problem get away Scot free with no consequences. So overall good pub but very very poor customer service.
My son and girlfriend asked to leave and wait outside as they didn't have id for food! Wasn't even having alcohol. Was ok last week when they had food. Was refusing a refund. Showed id as son went and got it and still refused. Finally getting there money back! The manager was very rude to them after and made them feel very uncomfortable will be putting a massive complaint in who do they think they are! Seem to tar all young ones the same. A lady next to them said let them eat they haven't done anything wrong as she was ignored by the so called manager ignorant man called matt!
We don't go to Wetherspoon 's very often, usually when we're going to see a performance at Hall for Cornwall. We like the convenience of it -- the food is delivered quickly and you don't have to wait long. I'm impressed by the salad accompaniment ; it's always good and fresh. There's a huge selection of food to choose from and the staff are worked off their feet. Whenever we've been there its been heaving and it's difficult to find a table, but that can only be good.
I ordered a chicken breast burger when it came it was visibly dry so I asked a member of staff if they had any mayonnaise,no was the reply so I asked if he could take it back and refund me he said no problem but then returned minutes later with the same meal and a tiny pot of mayonnaise saying the kitchen staff had very kindly given me some of theirs. I think that's a p**s take firstly if the chicken wasn't so dry the need for mayonnaise wouldn't be so needed, secondly a company the size of weatherspoons can't manage to provide customers with sauces continually yet the kitchen seems to be stocked, very kindly given me some of theirs the cheeky b*****d
