I've been with this practice since i was Born, & the in lst for 30 yrs it,s Gotten Worse not better, What a Disgrace & we the Patients get a petition about these Surgery's, Then receptionist think there doctors, Well there Not & think they can diagnosed You over the fone, or they are very rude over the fone, Im disabled they just dont Care about there patients anymoreThey just come in for there Money & Patients are forgotten & in for 2 of your lucky mins sometimes less, What going on on these Clinics? WAKE UP PEOPLE are dyinv with being misdiagnosed, They are practitioners & the Receptionist are the doctors, They have 2 look up Books to see what 2 give or something thatll make you feel wirse they don't examine you properly this is a disgrace Someone has 2 look into these Clinics & Since Sunday I've had 3 diagnoses I've been asking for antibiotics,Thats a wk now, I've just called again & This doc Gave me what I originally need, Antibiotics She listened 4 once at last & G,Doc waist of time,
I have been a patient at Old Machar for nine months, and unfortunately I have had many negative examples of why not to visit this clinic. First, when I moved in, the inscription and change to this health clinic was not done even if I submitted all the papers and did all things correct. I found this out when I actually had an emergency and needed to visit the clinic, that they had not done the correct paperwork. The receptionist is ALWAYS rude. I have had no call or encounter, where the receptionists would not be rude and shout personal and sensitive information across the hallway for all to hear. The doctor that I've met was rude and did not take the time to explain the procedure properly. I felt like I was not taken seriously, and that my fears were not legitimate. Getting an appointment for something takes up to a month !!, even if it would be something urgent. The nurse I met that took my blood samples is great - shoutout to her! : Otherwise, this is a bad health clinic with rude staff.
Been sadly a user of this dump 3 years now, Staff are always RUDE, and discriminate a lot of users who come here A lot look down Their snotty noses, ring up for a prescription giving by specialist in Ashgrove house waited 20 weeks for simple Arthritis meds and they simply REFUSE to reload Script 3 times now as 'Your GP knows better than a Arthritis Specialist! plus it's not on a reload' like psoriasis arthritis go's away after 3/4 weeks You could not make it up never mind the Practice Manageress who Threatens You if You try to complain, Absolut horrendous Staff to try talk too, Total chips on shoulders.
I have been with this practice for three years now and got needed help with very different medical issues I had over the years muscle pains, mental health, contraception, check ups/screening. If you follow the advice given on their homepage and over the phone, they'll respond swiftly and efficiently. Usually I get timely appointments and the team has been caring and considerate when interacting with me.
I have since moved practice. The receptionist staff were very nasty when I went in with a UTI. She shouted you dont have to come in here with a UTI go to the pharmacy across the road. What she said was not bad or wrong but how she said it was the problem. In future its nice to be discrete and lower your voice and do show some sympathy.
All the staff are helpful and friendly, not had any issues with any of the doctors. they are professionals, and they do a good job. The waiting times can be a bit long though if the doctor is running late.
The Doctor who saw me was very rude and told me there was nothing wrong. They made me feel very uncomfortable and tried to shame me for seeing a doctor 'While we have a COVID pandemic.' When I showed them what was resulting from the problem they told me that what I was showing them was something they made up on the spot. I was in shock and unable to respond as they were so blatantly lying to my face. I must say that this current experience was not consistent as when I first joined this practice they seemed quite knowledgeable and dedicated.
This is our local doctors and having lived in busy city locations before I think they do really well for a busy city centre clinic. They even have an online booking system for appointments. Just remember to register properly for the Practice before hand get your forms in etc.. and you should be fine. Receptionists can be abit short with you on the phone at busy times which I have known to happen on occasion, but besides this Staff seem friendly, attentive and informative!
Its taken me 20 years to find a practice i was happy with in Aberdeen. It is a very busy practice but the receptionists are very kind and professional. The practice makes good use of modern technology you can book appointments and request repeat prescriptions online. They even have a second practice where you can also book appointments. Amazing links with other services too.
Unfortunately, my experience with the receptionist at the Old Machar Medical Practice was far from pleasant. I asked for advice to see a doctor urgently I had serious breathing difficulties and the best help she could give me was "fill this form and come back with a proof of residence, then we'll see when you can meet the doctor". Once I replied I could not provide a proof of residence yet as I had moved to Scotland just 2 weeks before, she told me there was nothing else they could do, did not give me any advice on emergency care, nor show any sign of empathy.
