This used to be a good surgery, what’s happened? Please get your act together, the service is dreadful. In the last two months I’ve had appointments cancelled, been sent to the wrong surgery, waited six weeks to get basic information. There appear to be no services at Oakwood. What’s going on ? I think they are trying to run it into the ground to close it, because nobody could earnestly run a GP surgery in this manner, they probably want to sell the building, like asset stripping. It’s not the staff, the nurses or the GP’s when you eventually get to them… it’s the systems and processes!!
It’s so sad to see what has happened to this surgery. I always knew I was lucky to be able to call and see the same doctor every time but I didn’t fully appreciate what a wonderful surgery it was overall. Since the merger I have never seen the same doctor twice and I can’t even book ahead, you have to call on the morning or use patches which basically means it is impossible to get an appointment. I now understand why Doctor Watson left as he would have hated not being able to give the personalised service he wanted to give.
Agree with all the other reviews here since the merger that the quality of care has been going down. The online booking system doesn't work properly meaning you have to call in to arrange appointments but no one ever picks up. I've tried calling at 8:00 and also in the middle of the day, it's just constant queuing and when you're the next caller you're left waiting on the dialing tone. Unfortunately I will be moving GP practice after over 30 years as I'm just not getting seen anymore.
My elderly mother gave written permission for me to help with her medical care. She first moved to this practice because of problems with the one she'd been registered with for 57 years. It was lovely when she first joined. Able to get a face to face appointment by phone etc. It all changed for the worse since it was taken over by Diamond medical group. It's impossible to get an appointment. The gps don't seem to know what they're doing and I'm actually worried for my elderly mother. It's absolutely disgraceful
I've been at this GP since I was a child and never had a problem, since the practice merged with Diamond group I've never been able to get an appointment! I've just tried ringing at bang on 8am, and the call queue was full and I got cut off. They recommend patches, yet for the past 5 weeks it's just said they are at capacity and won't accept any new requests via patches!? It's becoming a joke. How am I supposed to speak to a GP??
Used to be an excellent surgery but since Diamond Medical Group has taken over its impossible to communicate with them. Cannot get appointments or responses to basic questions.
Update June 2024 - Why are you making healthcare so inaccessible? This is disgusting. Where has SystemOnline gone? This was the only way I've been able to get my prescriptions recently. Patches is awful and a waste of time. This GP surgery is getting worse and worse. Since becoming Diamond Medical Group you can now only book appointments by phone and by ringing up at 8am on the day. I feel totally misled and lied to by what was proposed for the merger. More than disappointing.
I think the place has gone so down hill you can't even call it a doctors surgery anymore. I called for my little one and got told to ring back tomorrow morning at 8am. It's a money making business now. It says that the reception staff are fully trained in asking questions more like fully trained at saying "we're fully booked call back tomorrow ". Not to mention the reception staff are rude a have zero people skills considering the place they work in. You get a better service at 111 so don't waste your time here. Babies used to be seen to straight away. But now with PATCHS it has to be done by 8.01 otherwise you don't get an appointment. Obviously places merge when they are going downhill so Oakwood surgery became diamond medical group clearly because they couldn't run themselves. It would be nice to see these people in the same situation and backs get turned on them!!! I wouldn't it even give 1 star.
Absolute disgrace, can never speak with a doctor, they dont reply to messages on PATCHS - its all a bit of a shambles. Who is Diamond Medical Group and how can they manage to do such a terrible job at running a GP practice? Such a shame, used to be a really great local practice with excellent doctors. Makes you scared to be ill, maybe we just have to go to A&E.
What used to be a well run and respected local surgery, now professionally incompetent, bordering on dangerous for the community they serve. Read all the other reviews, an unusable booking service, alienated all their elderly patients through internet based service that doesn't work..never answer the phone, turn up in person through sheer frustration promised a call back- nothing happens, had elderly relative sat waiting for a call over 12 hours a call that never comes.. Just one example of many. An embarrassment to the NHS and ethics of a General Practice. they Diamond Medical Group need to be ashamed of what they have done to this place.
