Not had one bad experience here. All 3 GPs I saw were a great help in dealing with my issues at every stage. Easy to get an appointment compared to other practices. People need to be more aware of the broader state of the healthcare in the UK.
Never had any issues getting an appointment, usually seen on the same or following day which is rare nowadays, great GP’s in the practice.
I’ve just had my smear test done - I was so scared before as I’d heard so many horror stories! It was literally not painful at all, the only slightly uncomfortable part was just being led there with no pants on, but you get a sheet to cover yourself with. The speculum is minor, even though it looks scary I hardly felt it open up. It only took 2 mins to do and the nurse I had was fantastic. She spoke through what she was doing, both before hand and during to make me feel at ease. Thank you so much Nurse S Atkinson for making it so comfortable for me and allowing me time to calm down ahead of the test I wouldn’t say there was any pain at all and the tools they use have developed so much - it was like a little silicon type brush they use to take the sample so no feelings of scraping or anything of the sort. So when you sadly approach 25 like I have, do book it in - there’s no need to put it off also like I did
It was my first time there to do a cervical screening. It was very quiet and nobody seemed to care if anyone walked in. I followed the sign to the second floor and started waiting by myself. I wondered if I did it the right way though cuz there seemed no one I could talk to for clarification. After about 20minutes later than my appointment time a lady came to me and brought me to a room. Wasn’t a bad experience but wasn’t particularly good.
Well, I don’t know where to start? Do I start with the OT who made me feel awful that I’m not meeting her expectations in my progress, telling me that they have a lot of patients on the list and using my age as a way to tell me that I shouldn’t be this way at this age or should I start with the gynecologist who made me feel so uncomfortable during the examination with her comments, which made me feel like a crazy person who’s making things up? Or the receptionist who would make me feel like I’m the worst human being for booking an appointment while having another one with a different doctor on a completely different matter? I understand that they might go through a lot while working with different types of patients but it’s not my fault that the person before me was rude or you’re having a bad day.
Felt like the doctor I saw was going through the motions waiting for me to be out as soon as I came in. She was not thorough, neglecting to ask me details about my medical concerns and possible reasons for why I think it might have happened. When I asked for guidance on what to do next I was brushed off without empathy. I came away from the experience far worse off than I went in. I have filled out the complaints form.
There was a middle aged white woman at reception and she was so condescending towards me about an issue with an appointment. She pushed all resposibility to the secretary and asked me to bring up issue with them. As the first person many patients interact with at the practice, it reflects pretty poorly on the business. Luckily there are other better trained receptionists to carry the practice's reputation.
The staff were so friendly and chatty, I was quite nervous coming in but they made it a super comfortable and easy experience - thanks again!
Genuinely never had a bad experience with anyone at LSMP. Granted, it’s a little difficult to get on-the-day appointments but you just have to make sure you’re quick and ring first thing. For non-urgent appointments I’ve been given weekend consultations as well as out of hours appointments. Receptionists, doctors, and nurses are all so, so friendly! Very friendly and welcoming and quick and efficient care. Thank you LSMP :
The process was very easy and the attention was very nice. I was intrigued by the low ratings but, to be fair, I had a very good experience.
