My rib was broken as it was hurt by a table and doctor refused to treat even after I forced to examine. Said there is no problem got it checked elsewhere after a month and excruciating pain, got to know it was broken a the time of examination and was a bit healed later. Asked dr.choudhary many times why there is heavy pain he kept insisting it’s nothing definitely did not wanted to treat. Issue occurred in 2019. Was in pain for months for this.At the end left it to his karma as I knew because I was in such heavy pain and treatment was refused.
Nurses and Doctors are extremely helpful and I always get good responses from reception. I have a marvellous, clever and understanding doctor but I can't mention names or they will be overrun with appointments. Thank you for being so helpful and responsive to requests.
Had been trying to get an appointment in multiple different places for a week with no luck at all, rang up Kirkstall and they answered straight away, booked me in same day an hour later. Receptionist was lovely as was Dr Moore.
Every time i have had an appointment here every single doctor and nurse has been excellent and understanding. I have always managed to get emergency on the day appointments and even the reception team are understanding. I had to move GP because of coming to university and was nervous because of the rating but it should be 5 stars, that’s always the experience i’ve had.
Lost my son nearly two years ago I've had NADA support from this surgery nothing sad it's disgraceful been with this surgery around 18 years its gone down hill noone cares wed 15th had my appointment by phone cancelled due to locum being ill fuming yet again no help yet I'm struggling sat here today feeling despair how do I go on without my boy and there's nothing for me no support disgusting couldn't write it just called up started crying are u robots got call recorded got to go to St James for a blood test cause I'm on cancer treatment yet my doctors is 2 minutes away u have failed me screw u as a result I'm posting all over twitter and I'm leaving your crap surgery !!!!After 18 years today is 6th September 24 . What a shambles
I wish there were minuses for starts. SERIOUSLY. This is not the first time and probably wont be the last that people are rude. So you say ring at 8 to book an appointment. But the line is busy till 8.20 then I am on hold for 10 minutes. I was ringing on behalf of elderly in my family and as a result have got late to work on several occasions. In addition when the receptionist answer the phone majority think it is OK to be rude and have an ignorant tone as if I am ringing at the wrong time and wonder why I am annoyed. However I have to give it to one receptionist who is ALWAYS NICE no matter what and unfortunately I am not sure what her name is. In addition doctors need to stop relating every issue you have to weight. I personally very rarely use the doctors literally once a year if that and everything has got to do with my weight. As a result many things will have been misdiagnosed. So do better!!!
I hear a lot of people complain about the GP and there is sometimes a need to do so. I've almost always had positive experiences of the practice. There are going to be instances where you can't get through, but in all fairness the practice have changed things to be better able to triage and help those in most need. My G/F's GP practice is a joke on the other hand, the light surgery. I'm not sure how they still hold a license. Comparatively miles apart. I've read a few things about the reception staff and don't forget a lot of these staff are not medically trained, nor can they assist with medical related problems. Everyone is stretched and it appears the decency has gone. It lasted for about 5 mins during COVID. Mistakes happen, end of. I'm not a massive fan of the new e-consultation form, but it does work and someone will get back to you. I'm sure that a lot of people who make 'urgent' appointments with the GP could wait, but we live in a society that demands everything now.
Edit: September 2023 - The regular doctors have left. And now it’s full of locums who have no idea what they are doing. A very serious health issue went left untreated for months causing serious issues. I couldn’t recommend them to anyone. I will leave my original review below so you can see the difference 2 years has made to a once nice GP practice. Original review - I can’t complain about this surgery, at times it can be abit hit and miss with the receptionist, and this was before covid. But I understand that they are stretched. The appointment booking system has changed since covid, it used to be so easy when it was all online, hopefully one day it will go back. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to reduce the message at the beginning of the phone call before it puts you through to the receptionist. It’s 90seconds long. Very frustrating when you want to make a quick call now you can’t do it online anymore. It’s really clean, laid out well for covid. The nurses are so patient with me when I have my bloods taken. Nurse Khan in particular is amazing at taking bloods. The doctors are so nice and kind with the exception of the male doctor who is a practice partner . It’s a shame doctor Miller and Gale have left, they were great doctors, it doesn’t seem like they’ve been able to replace them yet though so appointments are thinner then before. I’ve heard horror stories about people not being able to contact their GP these last few months, but I haven’t had that issue with Kirkstall Lane.
I've been with this surgery over 20 years, and have always had excellent service! Friendly and competent receptionists, nurses, and doctors. They’re doing a brilliant job of adapting to rapidly shrinking NHS resources, and were amazing during the pandemic! I've had numerous physical and mental health issues over the years, and have several long term conditions now. Kirkstall Lane have always given me effective, compassionate care.
I am extremely satisfied. I moved to Kirkstall in the summer 2017 and have always been seen by a doctor when it was necessary. I love the service that a doctor calls you within 2 hours to explain your symptoms and will see you the same day when it is serious, and referrals to hospital also worked spot on. The receptionist is super friendly and the two doctors I met so far have taken care of me very well.
