What you need to know before you order. If the product you order won't fit through your door you will be either left with the goods outside or if you return the item you will be charged 25% of the price of the item. We ordered a sofa and at no point during our visit to Oak Furniture Land was this mentioned by the sales staff. Not one word. They will take your money and say nothing about their fees they expect you to pay on returns. No transparancy of their policies before they have your money. They also reassured us the sofa we chose would fit through a standard doorway. We were given no advice or guidance on how to measure doorways and sofa to ensure it will go through a doorway. We have no sofa as it would not fit through our doorway so we had to return it. They have not responded to our complaints. Fit for purpose? No a sofa is designed to be an indoor piece of furniture, if it will not go through a doorway it is not fit for purpose. Customer service is dreadful. The website has no contact email address for complaints. You have to call and you get put on hold for ages. Once you get an email to contact and send an email no acknowledgment of email from oak furniture land and no reply. We are waiting on a refund too. We have no sofa and they have our money. You can tell a lot about a business when they have the opportunity to put right a situation when things have not gone to plan. There is an opportunity to go the extra mile to provide excellent customer service....sadly not our experience. We have been ignored and the company have made no effort to sort the situation out.

Not once was it mentioned by Oak Furniture Land's sales staff that if the sofa wouldn't fit through the door of our home we would be paying 25% of the price of the sofa to return it. Not a word was said on this topic. Their staff should explain this with the customer before an order is placed both verbally and staff should highlight this in the contract before a sale is agreed. I highlight that in our experience was not a word was said to us on this when we ordered our sofa. If we had been told we would not have placed the order. Not once was it mentioned to us by their sales staff to measure our doorways and the sofa to make sure it would fit through the door. If it had we would have taken care to take the measurements of our doorway and the sofa we wanted. My husband and I feel really ripped off as there was zero customer care to ensure the product was suitable for our home. No advice given on size and how it may struggle to fit through a standard doorway. No advice given on how to ensure the right sofa was selected. No advice on measuring. And zero transparency on high costs of returns. We have experienced zero concern for customer satisfaction from Oak Furniture Land. Once they knew the sofa was not a good fit for us no alternative solutions other than leaving it in our garage or sending it back at a huge cost are offered. A quick search on the internet finds stacks of complaints in regards from other customers who have also experienced the same treatment. Avoid.
