Story

O2 Academy Birmingham has been a landmark venue in the city since it first opened in 2000.

With over 450 events a year across its three rooms, it brings spectacular live music to the city from the hottest bands about to break to global superstars. It also hosts regular club nights with weekly residencies from the UK’s biggest Indie night Propaganda and one-off massive parties from major DJs and club brands.

In recent months the likes of Sam Smith, Jamie T, Rise Against, The Enemy, The Twang, Lauryn Hill, Jessie J, Action Bronson and Disclosure have all taken to the stage and upcoming shows at the venue include George The Poet, Clean Bandit, George Ezra, Placebo, The Prodigy and Of Mice & Men.

Saw Arch Enemy and In Flames. The venue easy to access security was quick. Plenty of bars with quick service albeit poor choice of non lager type beers. The venue felt quite cramped with the usual poor sound quality of this type of place. Had a great time
Nice enough venue but can be hard to get a good view downstairs due to pillars and something erected on our visit. A pint of draft beer was £7.70 and not the greatest. Toilets upstairs. Small, intimate venue.
Great venue. Polite & friendly staff. Average prices for drinks. Some limited visibility on the ground floor if you get stuck behind a pillar but great visibility of the stage otherwise. We've seen Darius Rucker, Passenger & Lukas Graham there recently and all were awesome
The staff on Friday night at the UK foos concert were amazing. Evan is the only one whose name we got but every single staff member went above and beyond. I have mobility problems and we were really well taken care of. Cannot praise the staff enough
Great venue for a midsized gig. Took my teen son and pre-teen nephew to a rap concert and sat in the balcony. Felt totally safe and under control. Could see the stage well and watch the masses of people swirling on the floor. We were able to enjoy the experience without being in the mosh pit. Excellent experience all told.
Bought standing only, wish we'd bought balcony. It's a nice venue, but we got squashed because of how many people were allowed in. Easy access for wheelchairs. The drinks were really expensive over £12 for a pint & a coke. The staff were really lovely, especially when my hubby felt faint they made sure he was safe and had a drink of water. Toilets were clean but quickly became dirty because of usage.
Went to see yeat and cot balcony seats it was the best spot for views and taking pictures especially as a girl as the standing crowd was insane moshpits of shirtless men. I recommend queuing atleast 3 hours before your event and bringing food ,water and a power bank also check the weather even tho u are under shelter the rain still manages to get you.
Went to see the teskey Brothers they were amazing absolutely fantastic loved every song if you get a chance go see them they had one small hit called hold me but they are so much more
Kevin - Thank you so much for giving us the best experience in the O2 academy. You deserve a raise and are one in a million. Unfortunately the door staff prior to entry didn't know what they were doing but Kevin made the night and was always looking out for the visitors. Ps thank you for the set list Kev :
Decent sized venue. Big enough for a good sized crowd but still with a fairly intimate feel. Makes for a good atmosphere. Plenty of bars, but maybe could do with an extra set of toilets.
