It's a lovely place. The only problem is when you are in the very top seats you cannot see who is on the stage it feels like you are blind and only hear what is going on on the stage, the stage felt so far away. The comedians was very good. Pictures below.
We visited the Symphony Hall for a Final Fantasy music concert. In terms of ease of access for a wheelchair user it is superb. Very flat and easy to get around. The area we were seated in gave us a perfect view and plenty of space to park up. My companion was given a chair to sit in and the inside of the hall is breathtaking. As a music venue it's 5 stars but I give 4 for the small issue I had with the disabled toilet. So the disabled toilet is located on the far side as you come into the venue. We were seated on the near side and from what I could see there is a similar seating option for disabled on the far side. So when the performance ended I tried to access the disabled toilet as there is only one but had to wait for everyone else coming out that side to pass. So that's a small niggle. The other reason was that the door is VERY heavy, I don't struggle much with that sort of thing but I had issues so without assistance I can see a lot of people struggling with it. It's also not very big. It's adequate size but I have seen much better so again could cause issue to users with larger mobility equipment. Overall as a music venue it's top notch and access wise it's very very good. Would definitely go again and probably get seats the other side!
Had a wonderful night at the Symphony Hall, the show itself was amazing. The seat I had Row E s13 had a great view and good amount of leg room too, which is always a great thing! The staff were amazing, the queuing and admittance was the smoothest and easiest I’ve ever been in, the staff were so helpful and cheerful. Inside is fairly easy to navigate through. Would like to say a special thanks to the staff member that spotted I was wearing my hidden disability badge, asked if I needed any extra assistance, and informed me of a safe space room in the theatre , for anyone that may get overwhelmed by the noise of the crowds or lights and need a quiet space, there is a room available which is dark and subdued and you can still hear and see what’s going on on the stage. The staff really were on the ball and the seating went really smoothly. The theatre interior is beautiful! Also very high so just be careful if you have a fear of heights, don’t pick the very top! I didn’t purchase drinks or snacks so I can’t comment on the prices of those, but there is seating available while you wait. Would definitely recommend a watching a show here, and thanks again to all of the staff who really worked hard to create a fantastic experience! I appreciate you
Came to see Sarah Millican, great venue, we was high up in the gods but the stage is fully visible. Bar on every level, service was pretty quick and not badly priced. Choice was a little limited. Only gripe would be coffee was out of one of those pump containers so it tasted old. Maybe a couple of machines would be better.
Went to see Tim peak live as a birthday gift. Great theatre and atmosphere. However the two drinks in the photos cost me £23.10. It’s just too expensive! The cashier initially told me £13.10 for a Gin & tonic + a beer. i gave her £23.10 as I was breaking into an £20 note. I expected a £10 note back and she gave me 10p back. One of the most confusing interactions I had. I was too polite to challenge and make a fuss at the time. Doesn’t make sense! Don’t know how you could justify that, honestly!
Lovely Hall, not as big as the other Birmingham hall, but this was so nice. The chairs were comfy, the staff were very helpful assigning people to their seats. Definitely recommend visiting!
Awesome venue - exceeded by the artists performing - the very underrated, but so thoroughly excelling Zombies - What an experience. Intimate venue, superb facilities, easily accessible, surrounded by an endless choice of cuisine, restaurants and hotels and served by fast, reliable trains from a main lune hub 5 nuns walk away. Perfect!
Love this venue. It's the right size for atmosphere but not too huge that you get lost in the crowd. We had seats at the top on the side, slightly restricted view, which didn't matter as we were there for the music. They were proper chairs so we had loads of leg room and they were very comfortable. The acoustics are great. Friendly helpful staff. There is plenty of parking nearby but we felt it was quite expensive.
We saw the amazing Gerry Anderson Concert. A brilliant evening hosted by John Culshaw. If I have any complaint, it would be that the seats are terribly uncomfortable after a while. Long overdue a 'fluff-up' I suspect
Always a great experience here and this time was no different. Went to see the afternoon performance of Beethoven, Walton and Elgar with my teenage son and the staff were friendly and polite, even offering us better seats as the hall wasn't full. We declined, as my son was happy where he was, but the fact they offered to those of us up in the gods a better seat option was a really nice touch. As a point of note, having sat in many areas of the hall before, the chairs are actually the most comfortable in the grand tier along the sides of the hall, so for £25 a seat I was very comfy, happy and the acoustics were fantastic! Back there next month train strikes willing for a spot of Gershwin - looking forward to being back.
