Perfectly made to feel welcome once entering the YMCA hostel. Made to feel relaxed when checking in if you are a buffalo on in the wild west with a lame leg and the vultures are circling. Hallways to room, take you back in time to when you was a child and visiting grannies. That remarkable resemblance of stale old person and must. Once in the room, the feel of a sea view, is enhanced with the period decor of a crows nest at sea. Right down to the rusty metal work and patched paint work. If you like ruff and ready with the added bonus of cheap this is the place for you. Regardless of it just been taken over, money needs to be invested. Rooms: If you like cheap and rundown then you will be fine.
Avoid this hotel. Pictures are nothing like the actual place, the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Unclean, staff weren't all that friendly on arrival, the room was awful we will never stay again. Checked out after one night, should have stayed for two. Rooms: Unclean and unsafe, wires everywhere, shower was blocked up with hair and overflowed didn't even get in. Just awful
Avoid this hotel me and my partner booked a room for 1 night and when we arrived we just got this weird vibe of the staff we both didn’t feel safe there it was a really dodgy hotel hosted by a couple we was the only ones staying there cameras everywhere the room smelt weird there was a big hole in the wall in the bathroom i didn’t feel comfortable staying there so we checked out that night the staff didn’t want us to leave and they was acting all shocked and desperate it was giving danger vibes this isn’t a safe place to stay the staff are dodgy I think someone should report this place and the reviews I have seen about it are shocking it looks nothing like the pictures online and they are only interested in your money also there was a couple who was smoking weed on the baloney too just as we was leaving and scaffolding all over the building it looks like an abandoned work site this place needs shutting down ASAP
Avoid- Not like any of the pictures. Very upset with the booking we made here. We arrived to an absolute disappointment and horror at the poor state of this hotel. Rooms unsafe and not clean. Windows don’t shut so it’s freezing, electric don’t work, beds have not been cleaned in a long time, broken mirrors. Not family friendly and not disability friendly. Staff refused my refund for 3 rooms so now I’m having to fight for my money back. We obviously did not stay here. We ended up paying double to stay somewhere else. This hotel needs to be reported to environmental health.
Cheap for a reason. Tired building all round. Reception couldn't find our booking but eventually after several checks located it. Room was spacious but wallpaper hanging off, cupboard door not shut, plug socket ropey, TV didn't work, sea front view but dirty window. Random box of mint chocolates left - unsure if this was the hotel or last people staying there - either way avoided. Sewage smell from the toilet. Bed bugs on the bed. Came to check out - nobody around and reception not open. Key left on side but felt they probably dont lock the door. AVOID
The rooms are awful very unclean beds are awful and filthy. Rooms are unsafe the beds are not good enough for a dog never would I stay here again.Rooms: 1/5
Really wanted to be positive seeing as owners only took it over 20th oct, but sadly i cant, the rooms were freezing, had a little plug in radiator which did nothing. The tap in the bathroom was heavily rusted. Had kettle and tea/coffee sachets but no cups. Duvet on the king size bed was too small. Windows were extremely drafty. Boxed furniture all over down stairs Noteworthy details: Over the road from the sea front which is nice. Building next door is all boarded up and has smashed windows, not a pleasant siĝht
The hotel was very poor. On arrival had to ring 4 numbers to then be greeted with a text can't talk right now use text. Key was left in room to collect. 3 night stay the bar and reception never open. There is no breakfast even though it states breakfast. Horrible smell throughout. The hotel room was very out dated and not clean stains on the walls messy carpets and a hole in the floor duct tape holding the draws together stains on the bathroom walls lose bath taps and the shower was worthless. The shower screen was hanging of the side of the bath. The windows did not close and was also duct tape to attempt to close it. No water in rooms as advertised. No cleaning in rooms full stay no towels changed. The only good thing I can give is the sea view even though this was through a dirty window. On day of departure we had a random man walk in the room without knocking and say just checking the rooms an hour before check out taking pictures of the hotel. ??? Hotels .com need to review this listing. ASAP. Like faulty towers and some mothers do have em rolled into one. That can go out in the morning
Awful experience Took a while to find our booking, room awful, double room with bunk beds in, made the room very small. Windows didn't close and hanging off, told us someone was coming to fix it. Room was freezing Offered an alternative room with only a double and single bed! 2 adults 2 children Room was dirty, under the bed had not been cleaned in a long while. Room smelt, bathroom dirty. Sheets not fully clean. Ended booking a different hotel at an extreme expense. Expedia unable to refund and can't get in touch with hotel. Awful service all round Stay well clear.
Walked in and left. Broken glass in communal doors, dirty rooms, non fitting carpets. Workers did not want to let you leave and blocked the door until the manager got there when I went to go. Avoid like the plagueRooms: 1/5
