Would give 6 stars if I could! Me and my mate Cog Dog stayed over and we were amazed at the stunning views of a back alley covered in litter. Complementing this was the cigarette butts left on the window ledge and the mouldy bathroom. The decor reminded us of the horror film 'The Shining' it was soo creepy. Definitely recommend would come again!
Good location, fairly central. Hotel has started to make lots of improvements including new windows and carpets. Room was clean and toasty warm. Staff are lovely, particularly the chef who has never been seen without a smile and dining room staff who will go above and beyond for you.Rooms: 4/5
We was so excited to stay at The Savoy. It was a disappointment. The room was outdated/too stiffling hot/stained/uncomfortable mattress/pillow. I complained to the male receptionist and was laughed at. The lift is super small and can only take 2 people at a time if they have suitcases. Only good point was the breakfast which was amazing and lots of variety to choose from.
Room was definitely better than what a lot of the reviews I had read. Breakfast was good however the evening meals weren't as good. The food itself tasted fine maybe a little dry but the roast potatoes were abysmal, I think it was those that upset my constitution which I consider robust so I didn't have my breakfast on the morning I was leaving. Bearing in mind that I stayed at the hotel as part of a large group for a specific function I am unlikely to return but if I did I would not opt for the evening meal but would go to a Wetherspoons or equivalent which would be a similar price point but a better choice
One upon a time this was a highly sought after 5 star hotel. Now its a budget Britannia group. The faded elegance is obvious but the staff work their socks off to make it work. Adjacent to Gynn Square tram stopRooms: 3/5
The room at the Savoy Hotel was clean and cozy, and the hotel itself had a lovely historic charm. However, there were many, many signs that the hotel is not being well-maintained by Britannia. I guess I don't know what I was expecting for the super inexpensive price, but it's so sad to see such a lovely Victorian property being treated this way. As an American, I still view places like the Savoy with such wonder and magic; these are places much older than I ever grew up seeing, and it's sad to see a piece of living British history fall into disrepair that way. Additionally, our stay was disrupted by noise throughout the night. We were woken up three times by loud, inebriated people screaming, including one woman crying and howling like an actual banshee in our hallway around 10pm, 11pm, and midnight. Additionally, the fire alarm in our room went off at 3am, which was very unsettling and jarring. Despite the comfy beds, needless to say we did NOT get a good night's sleep. Overall, I would rate the Savoy Hotel as a 2-star experience. One star for the cozy/clean room, and one for the natural character and location of this historic building, but the obnoxious noise and lack of maintenance of the property were certainly significant drawbacks.
Enjoyed by staying at Savoy. The service and the staff are very friendly. The hotel good location is looking over the beach overall inside the great design 1930s look breakfast and dinner accident.Rooms: 4/5
Room was pokey, bathroom smell of urine, dirty sock in wardrobe, cobwebs on ceiling, frosted glass window with brick wall behind. Heating controlled centrally, Booked for 3 nights bed breakfast and evening meal, checked out without staying.Rooms: 1/5
Today was our first visit to The Savoy hotel.we were very pleased and put at ease by Alex who helped accommodate our requirements given that we had a pet to consider to. He went far and beyond to help allocate the perfect room for us that we then decided to book another night. Very prompt when seeing to the reception to. Most definitely an asset to the company. The hotel itself is a little dated however very clean and most certainly worth the money for a room in comparison to some of the other blackpool hotels we have stayed in We will be returning for sure on our next vist
If you want to have a traditional experience in an older style hotel like my partner did then it's a good option. I prefer more modern but it's good value. Opposite tram station and the beach. Good parking and friendly staff.Rooms: 2/5
