Great little location to Park and then walk through Dovedale valley. There is toilets and a small vender selling ice cream and cake.
Milldale is an absolutely beautiful spot but can get rather busy in the high season. There is no cafe as such but a fantastic little kiosk sells drinks, snacks and ice cream to take away. Parking is free which is amazing for the Peak District.
Great place to park for free and pick up the Dovedale valley walking trail to Ilam rock and Dovedale/Thorpe Cloud. Noticed a sign saying that parking charges will start beginning in 2024 so enjoy it while it is free. The walk down to Dovedale is great. There are public toilets at the start and end and lots to look at and explore in the way.
It's a good n spacious car park. Very close to hiking start point
Great location for walking Milldale to Dovedale, just a few hundred metres from the river. Can fill on busier days, but was November when we were there. Small shop for ice creams and coffee down the hill.
Great little car par right on Dovedale, perfect for the upper end if not wanting to walk up from Ilam, or to walk down from and miss some of the crowds. Not that big and does fill up, even mid week off season.
Milldale can be very busy at peak periods but is a welcome refreshment stop after hiking the Dovedale valley.
Buetifull place and close to Dovedale.
This tucked away village is very pretty and you can take the footpath from here over to Dovedale. No facilities in the village though, there is a pub about half a mile up the road and we did see a heron across the river bank.
Beautiful little stone cottage village with a lovely bridge over the river and ducks to feed. Cute little shop selling snacks and ice cream.
