Really easy to find off of the main road. Payment available by cash or card. Plenty of spaces. No toilets or food I'm afraid. A 10 minute walk takes you to millstone edge which has excellent views. Boots are needs for this. It's not a hard walk but very muddy. You can walk even further across the fields and moors to a cave and many beautiful views but you'll need wellies as it's very water logged at present. Not too busy during the week either !!
I can't rate this car park any less than five stars as I was able to park my car here. So it did its job perfectly. Also it's a gorgeous place to visit if anyone wants a quieter peak District location to explore. Highly recommended warm gear as the winds can pick up at the top.
The machine worked for us. It is card only so be aware of that. 1.50 for 1hour parking. But its convenient. Only a few short steps and you have the view! The path is straight and even our elderly parents enjoyed the sunset view.
First hike of my trip and views did not disappoint! On a clear day you can see for miles! Walk is a mix of uphill rocky terrain, heather fields and some climbing opportunities too if you like on some central pieces. I came across some lovely cows on my walk who were very curious. Recommend catching on a clear day, also think this would have some beautiful night skies! Doesn’t take long to get to a good vantage point. Car park is a bit pricey but all goes towards maintaining these beautiful spots!
Surprisingly very large car park. £4.75/day for cans and vans. 5mins walk to Owley Tor 15 mins walk to Milestone Edge. Best every view from the top of the hill Evening hours- golden hours would blow your mind. They dont have any bins anywhere near the Peak District National Park. So keep some spare bags to carry the bins and bring them back to car. No toilet facilities available anywhere near the area. At least we haven’t seen one.
This is a lovely area in Derbyshire, the car park is large suitable for motorhome no overnight parking ,lots of different walks from here .Rocks to scramble beautiful scenery. Head for Suprise view takes your Breath away.come back down have a picnic then cross the road and head for a walk down to the stream .in summer you often see children dangling there feet .Along with the occasional grown up lots of walking this side of the road can be wet and sludgy so good boots .The other side is well drained. Lots of walks worth a visit..
Beautiful place, nicely located car park, but difficult to cross the road, never ending traffic .Located very close to area of interest
What a surprise. A 5-10 minutes short hike from the car park and you will reach the most beautiful view in Peak District. It is just amazing. Do not miss if you are close to Peak District and visiting a nearby city .
Nice car park with an ice cream van. Cost me £2.50 for 2 hours which was ideal for me because I was with my littleun, so didn't need a long stay. Good walks up Millstone Edge right from the car park.
Relatively inexpensive parking machine takes coins or card with easy access to many different routes. A quick walk up to Mother Cap from here, and a great view at the top. Have used this car park multiple times for circular hikes across to Higger Tor, Longshaw Estate, Padley Gorge and more.
