We stayed just a few days but were made to feel as it we were home. Sally welcomed us upon arrival and provided us with a comfortable, well appointed room with a great view of the local gardens, lighthouse and coastline. She also prepared beautifully prepared and tasty breakfasts each morning. If you plan a stop in Tynemouth, make it great with a stay at Martineau.

Excellent breakfast, both options of continental + cooked were brilliant, you get a cute order form to fill out and pick what you want (This B&B offers florentine, omelette, cooked breakfast etc!). The room was lovely, great attention to details like your milk being kept in a flask so stays cool for your morning cup of tea. We had the village view so can't comment on the amazing views from the other rooms, but our room was surprisingly quiet for the one looking out onto Front st. The owner is really lovely and welcoming, and offered great advice on restaurants and the market etc. : )
