Location perfect, parking was a little difficult as the surrounding area is all ticketed. Waited for a space on site Staff on reception were not overly welcoming, but the rest made the stay pleasant enough. A smile wouldn't go a miss

Being refurbished so expect daytime noise. We stayed in an already refurbished room which was smart, clean, comfortable, and had a wonderful view. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast fine. Pleased to see this gem being restored.

We are regulars in the public bar Copperfield's a great little bar, we regularly eat Sunday lunch there and it is normally fantastic and have regularly recommended it to friends but unfortunately a month or two ago we had a really really poor Sunday lunch, the meat was fine but the vegetables were disgraceful and the Yorkshire puddings must have been from the previous week!!! We complained to staff and we're told somebody would be in touch , we are still waiting!! Needless to say we haven't eaten there again!

A spotlessly clean hotel situated on the seafront in Tynemouth. Staff are very customer focused and all go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Public rooms are spacious and elegant. The hotel is cosy and warm, possibly at times a little over warm. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel has an annexe ' Laurel House' that is next door to the main hotel and used as a slightly less expensive option to staying in the hotel itself. This review is based on the main hotel. The only reason 4 stars has been given is due to the fact our room could have been improved with some upgrading especially with room lighting. Overall a lovely hotel with welcoming staff, we will be back!!

Very enjoyable afternoon tea. Lots of good sandwiches with lovely fillings, a multitude of delicious cakes and beautiful scones
