While eating at the tiger inn we saw this pub/restaurant advertised in their menu book as their sister pub so we thought we'd give it a go. Well it didn't disappoint us!! Beautiful food, we had the special of the day!! A T-bone steak, it was amazing and more than enough for two. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place!! They have what looks like the most amazing rooms to stay in too.x
We had a lovely lunch here on Saturday. Everything was fab. Food was incredible, freshly made scotch egg was a great starter and their burgers are also to die for. The seating area outside was lovely. It looked like they had heaters so during the winter months you could also enjoy the outside decking : Thanks!
No hesitation in recommending this place. We stayed here on route to France via the tunnel. The rooms were lovely and also comfortable. The food was really enjoyed by all our party both at Dinner and Breakfast. The staff we encountered were also very pleasant helpful and professional. Would have stayed here on the homeward journey but unfortunately the restaurant is closed early in the week. Will stay here again.
We had an amazing meal here last night. Everyone’s order was delicious. Our gluten free requirements were dealt with confidently by the delightful serving team. The cheese scones were, according to one of our party, the best thing she had EVER eaten! Have already recommended this venue to two people this morning. Thank you
Great service and great food I will be eating there again. Everything ran smoothly and we enjoyed the whole experience. It was clear that they cared more about the quality of the ingredients than piling the plate high. How they managed to get a soft boiled egg inside a scotch egg still mystifies me.
Absolutely great. Wonderful surroundings. service was attentive, entree for myslef was scotch egg with black pudding very tasty, followed by roast beef sirloin for Sunday lunch which was smashing. Only slight gripe was that the main course could have been a little hotter however all in all a great venue for Sunday lunch. We shall return!!!
We stayed overnight having come up through the tunnel and had a wonderful evening enjoying the super food. The rooms are charming and comfortable, our dog was made very welcome by all and the staff are superb. Highly recommended!
Simply fabulous! The Alkham valley proved an ideal spot to undertake a 7.5mile circular walk on a crisp frosty morning Lunch afterwards was delicious, but high end of the scale. After a tip allow say £30 for one very good main and a pint. BTW the ale was excellent and kept well Refurnished to a high standard with plenty of room. And I discovered a number of high quality Rooms to extend your stay
We had a lovely meal, but our friend ordered a £33 steak dinner, and when it arrived, it looked like something off the supermarket shelf. £5 steak. This was their first meal out for a while and was massively disappointing. Also you will be charged 10% as a service charge which is just absolute liberty, this isn't a city bar. I would recommend, but this place knows how to charge and is over priced. There are better country pubs around which have far better value imo.
Lovely room, the hotel itself is well worth staying at, relaxed atmosohere beautiful surroundings. The staff are all super attentive and approachable. Food is delicious and very well prepared. We would definitely stay here again.
