Story

A family run restaurant for those who want a real taste of Turkey. With a traditional barbecue occupying prime position in the center of the restaurant, we aim to recreate Turkish food as it is found in Turkey, right here in the heart of Ipswich by combining the freshest of ingredients with recipes that have withstood the taste test of time. MAHZEN welcomes couples, families, parties and corporate celebrations into a wooden-floored open space where you will get the opportunity to watch your food cook whilst indulging in some Turkish wine. A world away from the average Kebab house is a true Turkish cuisine awaiting you.....we look forward to seeing you!

I came here a few weeks ago with my work team. I had the swordfish, it was amazing! Lots of choice on the menu. Cater well for those who are gluten free/vegan as well! Those who are driving will need to pay to park in the car park across the road. Dietary restrictions: Cater for gluten free & vegans. Parking: Large car park across the road. Not cheap.
Lovely Turkish grub.. very large portion as well.. we got the £24.95 mixed platter and also Humus which was enough for 2 people.. great taste, great service and the waitress was very helpful as well.. would definitely recommend.Food: 5/5
We took dad to mahzen for his 70th birthday food was amazing staff were amazing and the atmosphere was the best, we sung happy birthday and the whole restaurant applauded him which was very moving as we almost lost dad to a heart attack in aug 2023! Thank you for a great evening, we travelled from London to Ipswich for the night too! Highly recommend this restaurant! Vegetarian options: Great options Kid-friendliness: Very child friendly which helped.
Walking thru town and found this spot while learning some of its history and let me tell you this food was DELICIOUS and had quick service I recommend the meal for 6 great price more than what you pay for
Great food, amazing ambiance, great selection of drinks. Mahzen is a gem in Ipswich. We parked at Duke St car park which was a 2 minute walk away from the restaurant. Highly recommend the chicken pirzola and the lamb shish. Huge portions too!
Absolutely amazing all round. The waitress was very warm and friendly.We had the hot meze for 2 which was enough for the 3 of us. The food was so tasty and flavoursome. Thank you ,can't wait to come again.Food: 5/5
Visited Mahzen in Ipswich and was thoroughly impressed. The lamb beyti was incredibly delicious and the waitresses were so helpful and attentive. Highly recommend for anyone seeking authentic Turkish cuisine.Food: 5/5
Both the food and the service here was fantastic. The attention to detail from Kerry was second-to-none. The food was excellent; the lamb extremely tender and the chicken beautifully succulent. The prices are more than reasonable at less than £5 a pint and £15 - £20 per course. The hot meze is ideal to feed two as a starter, and at £20, represents good value in my opinion.
Excellent food and hosts. However, we had a toddler who had just turned 3 yesterday. She couldn't reach for her food or drink when eating. I had to feed her and ended up putting our jackets on her chair to give her a boost so she could reach the table. It's really a shame that they don't have high chairs. I could have given a 5 star however, because of no high chair it has to be a 4.
