This place is great! The food is very traditional and the staff are friendly and well represented. We went for my brothers birthday and they were so kind and organised it very well. We reccommend the chicken 65 its very mouthwatering and tounge tickling it goes well with everything, seconds are definetly needed. The food is tasty and always comes served in a nice presentated way. Very traditional and i recommend you go there! Yumyum!!
Food is not great . Nonveg starters disappointed me a lot. When we ordered main course Chicken, the quality of chicken pieces were very hard boneless. I liked only mango lassi. It tastes rich.Even prawn butterfly was not upto the mark.
We visited on a Sunday evening and found the staff extremely warm and welcoming. The head waiter was dressed in traditional Sri Lankan attire. The tasteful decor has an Indian theme which added to the atmosphere. We ordered masala dosa rice flour pancakes with spicy potato filling served with coconut dip and saambhar which were very satisfying. The kids had chicken korma which was sweet creamy and mild which they ate with great delight along with parathas. Next the grown ups tried the chicken chetinnadu, a traditional south Indian dish often eaten by folk on trains. It had an interesting coconut spicy base quite different to the Pakistani or Bengali or North Indian fare found in other establishments but was fantastic. All washed down with some mango lassi and kulfi ice cream for desert made for a satisfying evening. Will definitely visit again!
For the buffet food, advertised over 12 dishes, only eight out and all running empty, not topped up in the time we where there. What was there was poor. The best part was the rice and that was dry. No dips. No sides. No salad options. Was only offered a drink towards the end of the stay. Will not be going back. A very poor buffet.
UPDATE- No more recommended. Quality has changed a lot in the last 5 years. But 5 hears ago - I love this restuarant. it is the only restuarant in ipswich which has indian chef. True indian taste, Superb food. good service. hv been there 4 times, never regreted.
Fantastic restaurant. Very different from other Indian's in town. Food is very tasty, the Tandoori King Prawn is delicious. Never disappointed with the food.
I don't know if I was the lucky one to be treated so badly by the person serving food.... the waiter out there absolutely misbehaved and insulted me.... the food was okay however the service was pathetic.... I'm a born Indian who can cook more deliciously than that chef but the main reason of going out to a restaurant is to have a good time with friends under a friendly n welcoming atmosphere.... the waiter out there is the one whom I will never want to see again...my serious advise to people NEVER EVER GO THERE....
Delicious food and tastes miles better than any other Indian restaurant in the town. However, not a cozy place and need some refurbishment.
Amazing south Indian food.. My Kerala had the monopoly on this cuisine for a while.. But this restaurant definitely has the potential to beat that.
real Indian food.most popular food at this place are masala Dosa,Chicken 65,chicken chettunadu Garlic chicken, lamb chettunadu, daal,Kerla Chiken and Kerala Curys. Love it.
