They deserve 5 stars for doing what they do despite not having the greatest resources. The buildings are so-so. They're ageing and you can see that there are not enough funds to bring them forward. However, the provision of care is exceptional. We have had kids with broken bones and dad's gall bladder playing up and they never missed a beat. Good work! If you have to stay on a ward: those are dated. This is of course not the fault of the hospital (£350m/week anyone?) but they are, let's say, basic. The medical provision, equipment, expertise in treatment, however, is top-notch. Full marks!

I have given this rating because of the care and helpfulness of the staff right from the doctors right to the cleaner I have been in a few times some longer like 8 weeks and a 7 weeks the staff could not do enough for I think that the food is so much better now. Last week I had a lot of trouble with my breathing but for the quick action of your staff I would not pulled through so I can only say a big thank you to all of these involved my air ways were closing . A big thank you for getting the Wi-Fi in one very pleased person..

I called 111 at 8.15am on a Saturday needing medical care. I was staying at my caravan so I'm not familiar with the area. I was given a slot at 9.15.30am with the on call out of hours GP. All the staff at the hospital were wonderful and treated me with dignity and care. I can't fault a thing! Well done Macclesfield General hospital

The waiting times are ridiculous and this hospital is highly disorganized - One of my specialist appointment got cancelled for some random reason and rescheduled 6 weeks later, which can be particularly distressing when you are waiting to establish a final diagnosis. I was also referred for a CT scan with puncture and the doctor didn't even bother reading my file or various results and didn't even know why I was there. Seriously questionable standards.
