I have nothing but praise for the staff at the hospital. This last week i have had to have 2 horrible procedures. I arrived early for both knowing that i will have a wait but got seen on both times before my appointment time.nThe nurses were very patient kind explained exactly what was going to happen even the nasty bits so i knew what to expect. I was not rushed through at all and given as much time after if i just wanted to sit.nThank you to all the staff you are exceptional
Attended A&E last night on the advice of NHS 111. On arrival after checking in I was triaged straight away. Nurse spoke to the out of hours GP to see if they would see me. I was called in by them within minutes. Prescription supplied and leg dressed and was out in under 40minutes of arrival. The Dr I saw was exceptional and the nurse who looked after me for a dressing was just as exceptional. I was thrilled with the service provided. And hopefully on the road to recovery. many thanks to all the staff who dealt with me :
Utterly useless. My Mum had a heart attack, taken in by ambulance, by day 4 on a trolley there was still no bed for her. She was in her eighties and in agony on uncomfortable trolley with hip a back problems exacerbated and that severely impeded her mobility. Being left so long with little attention and not keeping her fed and hydrated and helped to toilet is disgusting.
macclesfield its self is ok, the hospital is better, im a looked after child, and due to my age still didnt get seen sooner. at first we were told 2 hours, then 5-6 then 8-10. but after being there from 7:30pm till 4:00am the next day i was finally seen, thankfully my carer and i made friends with an elderly couple, then a dad and his daughter, and then a couple. they were all very talkative so my allergic reaction was easier to ignore as i was occupied, we did have a lovely worker bring tea & coffee round, unfortunately it was only once.. but aside from that we made friends, unfortunately as well my carer forgot her phone charger and when we asked the hospital receptionist she said she didnt have one, but this really nice man let us borrow his, and we got chatting with his brothers and him.nand the vending machine by the receptionist desk steals your money and doesnt give you your items! missed out on some food.
Why five stars? Well the NHS service is luck of the draw, if it is not busy, it is very good. You have to be ready to wait if you are not a referral. The Five Stars are for service and care. The A&E staff were fantastic, they were calm, caring and kept us up to date every step of the way. The ward that was needed was full, so was moved to a general ward until a bed was available. The staff again were charming and match those in A&E.nnThe hospital itself is on two floors, clean & it is a fairly modern building. There is no private entertainment supplied, but free WiFi if you need it. There is a general store for snacks, books, magazines, gifts & drinks. A small cafe & an ATM. They have a free to call Taxi service & it is about £5 to the Train Station. It is also serviced by a bus route. There are grounds to relax in if you are visiting.nnMacmillan have a suite here if you are dealing with cancer & lots of volunteers here do a marvellous job making a tough time easier. So yes there were long waits due to it being busy, but the care, skill and charm of the staff are second to none
