Did the Quarry Explorer on a rainy Easter week. The transport is in an ex-army 4x4 open back truck that seats 14. The roof is covered to protect from rain but sides are open to the elements. The truck is driven along old mine tracks up and around the old slate mines. It goes up and down gradients that you wouldn't expect. At the top the views are extensive. A word of warning - the temperature dropped at the top. Take warm clothing (blankets were provided) An hour and a half of good fun. To be fair our driver made the whole trip. He had been a miner at the slate mine in the 70s and he delivered an encyclopedic knowledge of the history and geography of the area in a hilarious and fascinating narration.

Took my 6yr old, 4yr old and 20 month old baby, they all loved it. I was more scared than them going down in the lift to see the mines! The tour is really interesting and beautiful to see. Theres lots to do here, will be back next year to go on the trampolines!!

Was really nice we went on the truck around the mine. It was very interesting and the guy who drove us told Alot of thing about the mine and was friendly. Sadly enough the lift down was being repaired and my nephew was to young to walk down. But gives us the change to come again. It was just amazing.

Brilliant place. Lot's to do for all the family. Even have a place to leave the dogs while you are enjoying your experiences.

Unforgettable experience for the whole family! We did the Deep Mine and the Quarry Explorer. We are a family of 4 with two children approaching early teens and they absolutely loved it. The guides were so knowledgeable and extremely pleasant. I would recommend wrapping up warm even on a hot sunny day as you climb in the Quarry Explorer the temperature drops and the wind is pretty bad. Would definitely recommend to anyone and wish we had of done it years ago! Thank you for an amazing day x
