You are allowed to explore the old slate workings at your own pace, after getting your hard hats and torches. A great place to bring the kids to show them what life would have been like as a slate miner in the past. The view as you exit the mine and look out over the coast is wonderful, and the warmth is welcome after the depths of the mine. There are steps, but these are not too steep to negotiate, and the lighting is thoughtfully positioned to ensure you don't loose your footing. Enjoy the experience.

Not expensive.

Really informative and interesting. It was nice to be able to explore independently rather than being guided around.

It is a bit cold in the caverns, so don't forget to take a jumper!

Oh... And have a cup of tea in the cafe as well. The owners are lovely people!

Great place for the whole family. Spectacular view. Great slate caverns full of interesting information. Attractions for adults as well as kids.

Great experience down the mine then spectacular views over the sea from outside. Benches to sit and enjoy view and lunch or snacks to enjoy from the friendly cafe next door.

Actually found this really interesting. My partners son loves it. I did clatter my head on the roof of one of the tunnels though - entirely my fault! Chap in the shop was very nice & my only gripe was the price seemed a bit dear for what it was.
