Sept 2014nSuch a lovely little mountain town station with wonderful structures. Wonderful views of all the local mountains. Fabulous seeing the steam trains which I just loved. It is most definitely worth a visit & taking a ride on a train to Porthmadog.
We visited the Blaenau Ffestiniog Train Station Tue 3rd OCT23.nThe ticket office is located on the platform via the bridge.nnThe train ticket office also serves as a cafe with souvenirs, maps plus lots of great information on the Steam Trains & area.nnPHIL was manning the ticket office on the day of our visit. After we purchased some souvenirs we had a nice chat with him.nPhil very kindly gave us some extra information on the steam trains and the local area.nnWith Phil's help we were later able to find the Tanygrisiau train station down the line close to Blaenau Ffestiniog. A lovely little mountain town station. Very cute with views of mountains towering over all around. It has national rail services as well as the local steam mountain train. Would definitely recommend a visit and walk up a mountain nearby.
Great experience traveling on the narrow gauge steam loco engine.nVery scenic and brought back old memories of traveling by huge steam engine trains in India.nBasics of Engineering; I think, this experience should be part of every student getting into college of engineering.
The station has one platform which is used by mainline trains which terminate and turn around to run to Llandudno via the Conwy Valley line. As of July 2022 The station sees 6 trains per day, these leaving at 0624, 0846, 1135, 1456, 1738, 2025. The journey is about an hour to Llandudno Junction for connections to Holyhead, Chester and South Wales, and about 1hr 15 minutes to Llandudno Town. At the station there is a footbridge connecting to the smaller steam railway which leads to the Cambrian coast. There is a co op and Mcolls nearby
