Was a little worried due to some of the reviews on here. The Gilmore wasn't accepting new patients and desperately needed to see a doctor. I was able to register on the Monday - reception staff were polite, prompt and respectful. Then on Wednesday I was seen quickly at the walk in clinic, seeing Dr Jason who was extremely professional and sympathetic.

This practice is beyond abysmal. I've had the displeasure of being a patient here for many years. But my main grievance is I was planning a trip to the Asias 2 years ago and was refused vaccines as it was deemed to short at before my trip (was seen in marchmount the very next day). So this time I went in to fill the form for vaccines weeks earlier. I returned today to insure why I hand not heard by from the nurse as my holiday was close to be told by a very unhelpful receptionist that the nurse has been on holiday for two weeks and was just back. When I asked why I wasn't notified I go a vacant glare and a half hearted oppolgie and was told nothing could be done as the nurse is now booked. I've had a plethora of bad experance here but this one has set the bar. Well below par.

Very similar experience to the previous reviewer. The female doctor is rude, she treated me as a panicky mum who just wants attention. Didn't even check my daughter properly and said it's nothing! 24 later my daughter had 40 degrees of fever and we went to OOH. They were great and diagnosed my 17 month old daughter with a Throat infection! Please do not trust their diagnosis. I will be filing a complaint! If this female doctor reads it, plase be aware that if you continue like this you will end up by making a seriuos mistake that will cost someone's life and there is no go back from that!!! NHS needs to think seriously of re training their staff.

DO NOT EVER AND UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TRUST THIS MEDICAL PRACTICE! Their wrong diagnosis and disrespectful treatment almost costed me my life. This is my story: One day in February 2016, I felt very ill. I had difficulty to stand up and walk, speak or concentrate and felt sleepy and tired all the time. I was suffering of fever 40*C, dramatically intense headaches and loss of appetite. I visited my GP at the Leven Medical Practice, who saw me after 2 hours of waiting at the reception. I almost fell asleep on the chair. The doctor diagnosed a flu, prescribed a common spray for the sore throat and advised me to take paracetamol. When he asked me if I am allergic to any medication, I took my phone to ask my mother who knew better (I live abroad) and the doctor impatiently told me off "please, stop messaging now, there's no way you'll be allergic to that spray. You see, he was in a hurry to kick me out of his office. I did as he suggested and the next day I was even worse. The headache would not go away with strong ibuprofen, my fever would not drop. On top of that I started vomiting repeatedly. I was living on my bed, not able to eat, drink or go to the toilet. My friends asked the Leven Medical Practice to send a doctor to examine me as I was unable to walk or even communicate and they insisted that I should go there because it was not their responsibility to visit at home. The next day, after a lot of insisting and while I was slowly losing consciousness, a female doctor visited and she was very rude with me. She ordered me to get up and walk, although it was clear I was unable to. Her diagnosis was that I am some lazy stubborn student with a common flu, seeking for attention. The next day, and as I was getting worse, my friends took the initiative to call an ambulance. Obviously, since there was no clear evidence that I was close to die, the ambulance would not come-instead they sent a paramedic. The paramedic diagnosed a flu as well and although he assumed it could be a life-threatening for of infection, he did not take me to the hospital. Instead, he asked me "Do you want to go to the hospital?" Needless to say how low my consciousness levels were, how weak I was after 4 days of living in the line between life and death, that I waved "No" to him. Finally, on the following day, I opened my eyes and my friends notices they were crossed. Then, they took me immediately to the Leven Medical Practice, where another doctor complained that noone told him at the first instance that I was so bad and finally referred me to the hospital with possible meningitis. Spicy detail: still, they would not call an ambulance, because I was not considered as an emergency. Less than 24 hours after that (and for 4 days), I was in a coma in intensive care, taking loads of antibiotics to treat my very serious and life threatening infection that had affected the normal function of my brain and was leading me to death. Do these doctors own a real degree? Why so many repeated mistakes? Where is the care for the patient? Thank you, Leven Medical Practice, for having me to go through all this. I was of the lucky ones, and I am thankful to the Infectious Diseases staff at the Western General Hospital for saving my life, but I am sure people have died by trusting the Leven Medical Practice medical staff! You are no more than a humiliation for the National Health System - a disrespectful, non-educated, murdering service! The reception staff are very very lovely. The doctors are questionable. One doctor blamed my abdominal pain on the fact that I was a woman and told me that I would need to learn to deal with it, a few weeks later I was in hospital.
