We booked a room for 3 people. Tiny room with third bed a child's mattress on the floor. Not what it looks like on the website I'm afraid so beaware Our information said if we were unhappy we could check out if we let reception know within 10 minutes. This we did and there was no hassle involved. Unfortunately it did mean having to find alternative accommodation on the day.
Good hotel, in a great location, although a lot of noise and light coming from the street outside. I slept with earplugs and was fine. No extractor fan in the bathroom and a bit of mould build up in the shower. Twin room wasn't two identical beds, but one proper comfy double bed, and one poor quality hard mattress - I don't believe this was specified when I booked. Lovely staff. Clean room.
A perfect place to stay for a night out in Manchester. It’s positioned 10 minutes walk between 2 train stations and close to theatres, in a colourful part of the city. The aquatic centre is only a 15 minute walk away. While it’s not fancy, it’s clean, has the essentials, and a very comfortable bed for a great price. Just missing a bar fridge and shelf in the bathroom. The staff are friendly and helpful and while it’s a little noisy on the street at night with pubs and bars close by, I slept well. I’d definitely stay again. Rooms: Compact, clean and comfortable. Nearby activities: Bars, cafes, universities and aquatic centre. Close to trains. Walkability: Close to everything and central. Food & drinks: Lots of cafes and places to eat. Lunch at the VIA was great.
Only stayed here because of its location. I'm not gay. The staff were a bit strange. They asked to hold my credit card in case of damages, and I said no and gave them cash instead. It used to be a time when "hotels" had a public phone so tourists could make local calls. I only visited for 2 days and didn't want a SIM card, and the staff wouldn't allow me to use the landline. The room isn't clean well enough. the pillows on the bed look soiled. 5 out of 10
Do not recommend this hotel. The shower broke whilst I was using it and spat scalding hot water, wouldn't turn off. I burnt my arm lightly on the shower bar, but it was hot enough to actually be dangerous. Upon alerting the receptionist who turned it off and "fixed" it with screwdrivers, I learnt that the plumber had taught her the hack for fixing it and she had fixed this issue the day before my arrival. So clearly this is an ongoing issue that hasn't been dealt with properly. I did not feel comfortable or safe to use it again, so cannot verify whether it was truly fixed or not. On top of that, there was no soap in the dispensers. There was no hair dryer in the room. When I pointed this out, they did refill the soap dispensers but forgot about the hairdryer. Also note that the shower cubicle is quite small and only has one large, fixed overhead showerhead - not ideal if you don't want to wash your hair and there is no hair dryer. There is lot of noise from nearby clubs, so bring earplugs if you intend to stay here. Finally, they were offering £100 raffle in exchange for a review, so take the reviews with a pinch of salt.
Worst hotel experience ever. We were given a basement room which stunk like an old cellar and needed a dehumidifier on constantly. I explained to the staff that due to having a respiratory illness, I couldn’t stay in the room. The staff had to check with the manager to see if they could give us a normal room, but because of the cost difference the manager wouldn’t allow this. This hotel needs a hazard warning sign on the website and front door. We didn’t stay here and got another hotel straight away which cost more because it wasn’t an advance booking. I don’t known how this hotel has managed to get the basement rooms signed off as habitable rooms. They obviously didn’t want to pay for proper tanking of the basement and decided instead just to get dehumidifiers in the rooms and make the guests put up with a dark damp environment. Do not risk stopping here.
Budget friendly hotel in the LGBTQ+ district of Manchester along Canal Street. Good location for bars and restaurants. It’s busy, so there’s a fair bit of noise. Whilst the room is well laid out, the wardrobe and cabinets are quite dusty. There is no lift, so it’s not accessibility friendly.Rooms: 3/5
Conveniently located off Canal Street, amongst all the pubs and clubs. Our room was clean and the staff were friendly. Being right by the nighlife there was noise throughout the night but to be expected really.Rooms: 5/5
Not a great experience on our first night in Manchester. The receptionist was quite rude to us, after checking in he took our card and took pictures of both sides, taking sensitive banking information, worried we had to block our account, he assured us that our details would be destroyed once we checked out of the room and checked that we had not destroyed anything. We asked for a quiet room and he left us in the basement towards an alley where there were bars and constant noise. This is a hotel in dire need of maintenance. We did not sleep at all. I recommend it if you are on a budget and need a place to shower and "rest" for a few hours before continuing your trip
The worst hotel I have ever been. Bedsheets are full of hairs seem like didn’t even washed, i have post a photo of pillow cover how dirty it is,,, That complementary snacks pack are already open And the switches gave me electric shock,, what a surprise
