Had an absolutely delightful evening. The customer service was outstanding and our food was delicious. The staff made us feel very welcomed and relaxed from beginning to end. Between us we had a shared starter, two mains with a side each, desert and three rounds of drinks. My hubby had a mixed grill and it was cooked exactly how he asked, rare. This is a rarity as normally it’s either well done or cremated. It was so nice seeing non alcoholic Heineken on tap as well. Highly recommend this establishment. Looking forward to our next visit already.
Nice and cosy pub. The dogs are also welcome. We loved the fireplace Unfortunately, we've been told that the kitchen we're closed till later on afternoon and we had to use only the pub facilities. However, we definitely recommend it Service: 2/5
We popped in for lunch and we were really pleased to see Vegan options on the menu. The not-chicken burger was nice and the not-chicken Caesar salad tasted great! Friendly service and a good ciders suitable for vegans Dietary restrictions: It was great to see a variety of vegan options on the menu - the 'not-chicken' Caesar salad was great!
We haven't visited this pub for a few years so we decided to treat my mum and give it a visit. We booked a table for a Saturday night and were greeted by a very friendly and helpful member of staff. The Pub and restaurant are very spacious, clean and modern with a really nice vibe. The menu had a nice selection to choose from, but could have been a little larger in choice. We had a selection of breads and a Brixworth pate to share between 3 of us which was plentiful and very tasty. For mains two us were going to order the breaded pork but unfortunately they had "just sold the last one." So I ordered the 6oz beef burger, my wife ordered the chicken burger and my mum ordered the chicken Normandy. Both burgers were delicious however the chicken Normandy was tasteless and the mash that came with it was an unattractive, tasteless sloppy mess. For desserts we had a couple of the tiramisu cheesecakes and a sticky toffee pudding. All were really nice. With coffees and a couple of drinks each, the bill came to over £125 which was a little bit pricey. However the staff were very polite, friendly and professional with the right amount of attention paid. Shame the chef didn't pay the same attention to the chicken dinner.
Great place to visit, superb food and atmosphere. Nicely presented inside and outside. We were a party of 8 and had a lovely meal, made even better with the excellent service and happy staff. Would highly recommend this country Pub and restaurant. Thank you for making our visit so welcoming. Parking: Large car park.
Used to adore this place, gorgeous venue and staff were very welcoming. They’ve recently changed their menu and it’s now fairly basic pub grub. Presented really nicely, but now essentially burger and chips. A real shame, but considering the cost of living crisis, it’s not surprising why they’ve chosen to go more basic food wise.
This is the second time dining at the Lamport Swan. The first time, which was only a few weeks ago, was brilliant. The food was amazing. So we decided to take some friends last night. I chose the beef burger and doubled up which is an additional £4. Taking the total of the burger to just shy of £20 which is ridiculous when you think about it. What's even more ridiculous is the fact that when it arrived, the patties resembled 2 pieces of burnt chipboard with the density of a ice hockey puck, like they had been cooked burned earlier in the day and left on the side to dry out, then conviniently warmed up in a microwave. They were so dry and dense that if I had thrown one of the patties at someones head, it could have quite literally killed them. In fact I did contemplate taking them home and using them as wheels for the model car I am currently building. However, I ate the burger because I was starving hungry having not eaten for 24 hours, and we were on limited time with a 10 month old baby in tow, but I really should have sent it back and refused to pay for it. I let the waitress know and she informed the chef but nothing more was said. It's a pity as we will never set foot in that place again, which is a shame as the first time it was really good. It maybe explains why we were the only people, besides 1 more table, eating there.
Quite expensive for what it is, also got dirty cutlery and catched COVID afterwards.Food: 4/5
I met a friend who lived locally and included this pub as a halfway point on our Sunday countryside ramble. It looked massive and literally stone cold on the outside but inside transported you to cosy warmth beautifully decor. We had a drink served by a friendly welcoming mine host and although we didn't eat wished we had as the food was clearly plentiful and homemade top quality. Next time!
What a lovely setting. The staff are so friendly and the food is fantastic. I couldn't fault their service at all. I can't wait to come back.Food: 5/5
