Excellent experience. Walked in at 14:52 when the kitchen was closing at 15:00 and they were more than happy to take our order anyway. Speed of service was excellent. We'd only been sat down for 10 minutes and the food was with us. Lovely garden area too. Amazing no nonsense food at a reasonable price. We will definitely be back soon. Thank you to all the staff. It's great to see a small independent pub deliver such excellent service.
HORRENDOUS! Can i give 0 stars?! The food here is shocking. Frozen Yorkshires, Frozen Roasties, Mushy Carrots and Parsnips. No greens as you can see. Lukewarm watery gravy. The kids had Cheeseburger, chips and peas. Chips were cold. The waitress came over to ask how it was and even the kids told her how bad it was, met with a blank expression from the waitress. Mrs said it was like "Nursing home food" or "prison food". The couple next to us even commented how bad it looked. 10yrs ago this pub was brilliant. Severely gone downhill. --------------- In response to your reply. You haven't spoken to me about my experience at all.
Lovely pub with a lovely garden. Food was served fairly quickly. All day breakfast was not bad apart from the sausages which I didn’t like, the gammon was fatty and a bit tough. Is expensive compared to other pubs. Lovely staff and covid safe. Update: my in-laws went for a carvery and was very disappointed, vegetables were cold and the food was not very good. They won’t be returning as it’s also expensive for a disappointing meal. They prefer the queens head in Wellingborough.
Very poor dining experience & not good value for money. First time visit with family for Sunday lunch and the food was awful & bland. All of our table agreed it was poor - from the overall experience, price paid and mainly the quality of the ingredients. When asked about our food I advised that it wasn’t good and that none of us were enjoying our meals. My mother in law asked if the meat was cooked freshly that day and we were told it was however it just tasted like it had been pre cooked & heated up. We were offered to swap for something else but decided not to as was put off by the food we had been given. Comparable to a microwave meal but triple the cost.
Nice pub and a nice Guinness even though it’s a bit pricey at £4.70 a pint, time to sample some food
Faultless We popped in for lunch today. The food came well presented, hot & speedily. Good quality, good value for money & friendly staff We were also impressed with how clean in general the pub is. We will definitely be back.
Bit disappointed as there was 7 of us and I had a burger and it was cold. I was in a bit if a rush so didn't really have time to complain. And 3 others on my table said there food was cold as well. And wasn't like it was busy was there was only a few people in there.. Used to come here a lot and was always good.. But been a few years and not a good experience.
The worst sunday lunch l and my family have ever been presented with. The lamb over £15 for what seemed warmed up tasteless meat not fresh soggy roast potatoes just 2 veg if you don't like sprouts you just get carrots beef no better pork no crackling also expect not freshly cooked presentation. Awful to match the food also the place smelt like old house will never return waste of hard earned money. When complained just got offered a different meal,!! No thanks
Absolutely a wonderful place. Very homely. Took our cousin for her birthday on Tuesday. Quiz night was on too. Staff brought the birthday cake to make it a surprise, quizmaster played music over the speakers and everyone joined in. Birthday girl was thrilled. Food was great, reasonably priced too. Will definitely be revisiting soon. Anusha & Nalinda
Well, what can I say. This pub is superb. We travel all over the UK for work and we booked a table for this eve and also told there was a quiz night too. We had a blast of an evening, excellent food lovely staff and a great quizmaster. Made us feel very welcome and to be honest one of the best evenings we have had for ages. I can't rate this place high enough, if you are in the area its a must and if its Tuesday quiz night you will have a fantastic evening. Well done and thank you to everyone this evening
