On packing my bags in the morning the morning I was checking out, I was not able to leave my room at the designated 11:00 A.M. checkout time because I was not able to leave my room due to a fault with the door used to enter and exit my room. I tried budging the lock for around half an hour and had no success in doing so. Trying every method possible. As to my knowledge, there were no staff on-site, I called the staff member who in-person text-messaged me the combinations to get into the building and my room respectively. The phone rang but went to voicemail and on hanging up received a text-message from his number saying to not call his number as it is one of a personal nature and queries regarding the rooms should be sent via the e-mail of the provider of the rooms or by calling an different number provided. I called the different number provided and was expecting to speak to a member of staff but was forwarded to a locksmith and explained to him the situation. By this point, I was very stressed and overwhelmed; not only was I worried about having to pay a late checkout fee but also my safety and not making the train I needed to get to travel home. Within half-an-hour, the gentleman arrived to try and let me out of the room from the outside and had no success. He even asked me to slide the original room key under the door and tried that and had no luck with that either. He then returned to the key to me and then asked if he could search for a spare key, I agreed to him doing his and around fifteen or so minutes later, he obtained one and was able to let me out my room. He proceeded to ask for identification, so I allowed him to take a photograph on his phone of my provisional driving licence, and was then able to go about my journey home and him to go back to his office. Luckily, I was not asked to pay for this service. Oh, and do not bother trying to complain via phone or e-mail, nobody bothers to take the time to respond.
We didn't know that we are going to be on third floor with no lift. The room doesn't include toilet inside and the shower power is low. However, the location is good. Very close to Royal Pavilion. Three host is responsive.Rooms: 2/5
Very disappointed, rooms doesn't look same as on website! Avoid !!! Duvets and towels looks dirty. My wife discovered condons behind bed disgusting place!Rooms: 1/5
Amazing location right in front of the Royal pavilion! and with competitive prices. The room was clean with fresh linen and towels. Easy self check-in/out. I would recommend!Rooms: 5/5
Considering that this hotel was booked during summer time, I was very surprised that we was able to get it so cheap. I was travelling with 4 other friends and booked a family room which has capacity for 7. Surprisingly, it didn't feel too cramped despite us being 5 boys and for a quick trip, the room does the job. The hotel itself is pretty clean. While they did not have in person staff, they were generally quick to reply on the online messaging service. Instructions to access the room were pretty easy to follow. Location is ideal as it is a 5 min walk from the coast and roughly 15 min walk from the pier. Overall, for a short and cheap getaway this hotel will do the job.
Cheap and clean, self check in, central location. Very basic, shared bathroom and toilet. Check in via email. Ideal if you just want somewhere cheap to have a kip. Walkability: Central location, easy to get to shops and seafront. Food & drinks: No food or drinks served here.
This place is hard to describe . We stayed there two days and we only saw a cleaner, no reception desk, no security... It looks like it's quite common in UK to pay an extra fee for an early check-in, so we had to wait until 15:00 for an email with the instructions to access our room, we got a pin code for the main door and an extra code for the box where the room key was stored. The cleaner only cleaned the rooms that checked out that day, so our room was never cleaned, that includes no new towels, an so on. The shower head bracket was broken and the shower was next to the bed, so you had to watch out for closing the door properly, otherwise, it would be a complete mess. The building is not well maintained in general, that includes the rooms. The window in our room did not close well, the doors of the wardrobe either... as I said, this building needs a lot of maintenance, but meanwhile people keep booking this place... Finally, we had to leave our room at the exact time, otherwise we would be charged with an extra fee as well, and once again, we had to put the keys in the same place we took it. PS: everything here has an extra fee, that includes the luggage storage, 15£.
I am happy with my stay. Room was clean , bed is nice and comfortable , towel , bedsheets were clean. Room also included water boiler with coffee and tea . Room has basin with hot and cold water. For me there was no any hotel staff there , check in was online. They keep 50 pound safety deposit but I got return with in 2 days.Rooms: 4/5
Great location, near to the royal pavilion. Really good value for money. The room wasn't anything special but was clean and comfortable.Rooms: 4/5
The hostel was really nice and very good value for money. The room was on the top floor and there are a lot of stairs but obviously this is no fault of the owners and rather just the building design. The shower and toilet facilities were very close to the rooms and were very clean. The room I stayed in was a private twin room which was very spacious. The breakfast provided was basic but is included in the price, so again very good value for money. There's a lot of tourist information in the hostel too. My only complaint would be that the room was very hot but luckily there was a fan provided which came in handy. The hostel has a very central location and is walking distance to the city centre and the seafront. I would definitely recommend staying here again and fully intend on staying here again if I return to Brighton.
